What other miniature wargames do you play/do you want to play?

By Iceeagle85, in Runewars Miniatures Game

From the discussions here it's clear to me that some have already played other miniature wargames, so I thought it would be perhaps nice what games we have played or want to play.

What i play:

Infinity : PanOcenia and Yu-Jing, thansk to owning botsh Icestorm and Red Veil I also have a Noamd and Haqqislam starter that i maybe add soemthing to, I surely will buy the Maghariba Guard , it's to awesome too not own. Then i got some Aleph Greeks, the USAridna box and when i began palying the game i got a Combined Army starter and some blisters, but those were from the old range. And of course i also preordered the Fat Yuan Yuan and the manga ;)

Warhammer 40K : Space Marines (Ultras + SW though i have some BTs and BAs), Tyranids + Genestealer Cult, Tau and i have some Harlequins and Skitarii

Dropzone Commander : Shaltari and some Resistance models

Blood Bowl: Dwarfs and Skaven

X Wing: Rebels + Scum and some Imps

Wrath of Kings : Teknes and Hadross

Freebooters Fate : Goblin Pirates and Cult

I play mostly Infinity and 40k, the rest gets very little playtime these days, perhaps with the new releases I will play a little bit more X-Wing and i more or less just started with Blood Bowl.

What did i play:

WHF: Dwarfs, Vampire Counts and Ogres

Firestorm Armada : Dindrenzi and Aquans

Planetfall : Got the starter box + it's expansions and i like the models but the game was a beta in my opinion when they released it, the rulebook got so many changes.

Dystopian Wars : FSA and Antarctica, great models but it somehow didn't stick, and beiing a Spartan game didn't help either.

MERCS : CCC, the Russian and Texico, palyed it back in first edition when you could buy faction starters or single miniature blisters, always wanted to get the 2nd edition rulebook but never did it.

Deadzone : Have the starter and some factions starters and played it for quite some time but never got into 2nd edition

Mars Attacks : Got the starter, played it for a while then forgot about it.

Star Wars Armada: I have the starter

Where do i have some models without ever having played the game:

Malifaux : Got some Gremlins, the Jakob Lynch crew and the Beckoners but never had the rules, just bought them because they are great miniatures

Flames of War : Had the starter

Bolt Action : Had the starter

Warzone Resurrection : Got some Brootherhood models

Beyond the Gates of Antares : Have the starter but never tested it, I plan on it though

30K : loyal Death Guard and Imperial Fists

What game would i like to play/test:

Malifaux : Like the diceless mechanics and it also has great models, really like the Gremlins

Dark Age

Frost Grave : Seems fun

Bushido : Nice models and I like the setting.

Walking Dead

Games that are not yet out but interest me:

Twisted , Runewars, The Other Side , CMONs ASOIAF game, Shattered Void

What I Play:
Star Wars: X-Wing: Miniatures Game

What I have played:
Star Wars Miniatures Game (Wizards of the Coast) [not really a wargame at all, but it is the only other miniatures game I've played.]

Where I own some minis but never played the game:
I have a single hobbit from GW's The Lord of the Rings game that got for free for walking into their store. It was the first model I ever painted, but I haven't spent a dime on GW.
I also own Imperial Assault, but that is neither a wargame, nor have I played the skirmish mode outside of a few family games with just a core set.

Games I would like to play:
I've been looking at battle reports of other miniature wargames since I am so inexperienced in this genre, and I have to say that Age of Sigmar looks like something I could get into. I'd like to give it a try sometime. However, my finances would never allow me to play a third miniatures game and I'd much rather play Runewars.

Unreleased games that interest me:
Runewars

games I play

X-wing.

games I've Played

D&D mini's

D&D Dungeon Command

Neither of these are wargames and Dungeon Command is mediocre.

Games I'm interested in

Wrath of kings

Games not out

RUNEWARS!!!!!!

Games that lost my interest after research

40k- too expensive, 50 dice 1 kill

kings of war- again too many dice per hit, although I do like their wound system this type of game has too many models to remove one at a time.

Games I've Played:

I've played a single learning game of Guild Ball and would like to try it again, but it didn't grip me the way I'd hoped.

Games I'm interested in:

Runewars of course.

Frostgrave. I'll probably just use my Runewars minis for this.

Infinity - This looks cool and I would probably have settled on this if I didn't decide that fantasy (Runewars) interested me more than sci-fi. I'd still like to try it sometime.

Games I play : *crickets* (maybe Kings of War or Deadzone 1-2 times a year?)

Games I have and sure wish I played more of : Kings of War (and I guess Age of Sigmar, but I'd take KoW over AoS most of the time), Deadzone, Warpath, Dust Warfare, The Walking Dead All Out War, Star Wars Armada, Dreadball, A Song of Blades and Heroes, Tail Feathers, Relic Blade

Games I'd like to get and try : Runewars!

Games I play: <on rotation> X Wing (all factions), Armada (both factions), By Fire and Sword (Western Europeans), Gripping Beast's Saga (various factions; best overall skirmish game out there), Malifaux (Arcanists with a good mix of old metals plus a few other bands)

Games I play : <off rotation or infrequently play> Infinity (Tohaa/Aleph with a few French and Nomads), Historical games (many many many different rulesets), Sci-fi (same with historical), just tons of different rulesets from Frostgrave and other Osprey rulesets to several of the Warlord games.

Games I want to try : Warmachine (played it a little way back in 1st edition), Flames of War (the just released version 4 but only a small Desert force), Test of Honour (love skirmish sets), Conflict 47, Blood and Plunder (pirates!), Knight miniatures' superhero game, Osprey releases

Yes yes, Runewars too!

I might be missing a few games too.

Edit: Games I played : Too many!

Ah Saga, another game i always wanted to test so I can let out my inner Viking :D

Aren't there different versions of Saga for different time periods?

What i play:

9th Age

Kingdom Death (though it's more of a boardgame)

Zombicide

Deus Vult

Imperial Assault

Armada

Freebooters Fate

What did i play:

WHFB

40K

Infinity

DBM & DBA

Kings of War

Games I'm interested in

All of them, except AoS

Games I play and own currently include Godslayer, Kings of War, Deadzone, Diskwars, Frostgrave, Beyond the Gates of Antares and Imperial Assault.

Games I used to play include Warhammer, Warhammer 40k, Warmaster and Warmaster Ancients, Firestorm Armada, Dystopian Wars, Infinity, Warmachine/Hordes, X-Wing, Starship Troopers, Bolt Action, Saga, Victory Decision, Song of Blades and Heroes, Heroic Ballads, PMC 2640, DBA, Battlelore, Betrayal at Calth, Battles of Westeros, Chronopia, Battleground: Fantasy Warfare, Afterglow, Star Wars Armada, Heroclix and possibly a couple I am forgetting.

Games I'm looking forward to checking out include Runewars and the newly announced Shadow War: Armageddon. I'd also like to give Age of Sigmar a spin, mainly to have an informed opinion about the actual mechanics, though I don't think I'd build a lasting relationship with it.

Sort of. There's the Authurian Roman period and early Crusaders but the game is relatively the same (minor rule changes or equipment) and the armies can all fight one another regardless of era. I have yet to get the new book but it can be difficult to find someone in the US who actually has it.

What I play

Warmachine: Khador, Ret, Menoth

Infinity: Ariadna

X-wing: All the things

Imperial Assault: Mainly Campaign

Guild Ball: Butchers

What I have played:

DnD Chainmail

Mage Knight Dungeon

Some weird scifi game from 2002

WHF: Empire

WH40k: Dark Angels, Chaos Space Marines, Tyranids

Armada

Hordes: Legion and Circle

Things I'm planning on playing:

Runewars (I know curveball right?)

Hordes: Grymkin

Ariadna? Oh come on they are nearly as bad as those Nomads space hippies :P
The Grymkin have some nice and interesting models but i think the overall look is very (perhaps to) different fom the rest of the Iron Kindgdoms stuff.

1st Ariadna are Space Amish

2nd Grymkin looks super different from the Iron Kingdoms because they are monsters for nightmares and hellscapes of defilers of Menoth...thats pretty cool in my book...

Oh and the Old Witch is full on Baba Yaga now after turning scrapjack into a house on chicken legs

Ariadna has Equipe Mirage 5! Then there are the Riot Grrls.

@pancakeonions is Dust Warfare still in production or is it dead?

Dang @Iceeagle85 , your post would have been shorter if you listed the games you don't play ;)

But this still wins the thread:

What I Play

X-Wing: Whatever faction my opponent isn't playing

BattleLore 2nd Edition

Descent 2nd Edition (I know, not really a minis game, but has a lot of minis game elements and I play so much of it that I think it has to count)

My own, home-brew modern micro armor rules: East Germans, West Germans, U.S. Army, U.S. Marines, U.S.S.R.

What I used to play

Warhammer: Empire and Ogre Kingdoms

Warhammer 40k: Space Marines and Orks

Age of Sigmar: Ogres and Free Peoples

A bunch of different historicals

What I'd Like to Play

Robotech RPG Tactics (I have a ton of this but not enough time or opponents to play)

Infinity (I have opponents and have played a few games, but can't find the time)

Runewars Minis! (to fill the Warhammer shaped hole in my heart)

Played:

Flames of War, Warhammer FB, 40k, Battlelore 2nd Ed.

Looking to play:

Mythic Battles: Pantheon

I play:

Dust 1947

Wrath of Kings

Warpath/Deadzone

soon to be Runewars

i have played:

proabbly every mini game in the history of mankind at least once ?

Runewars Miniatures. :P

there-can-be-only-one-quote-2.jpg

What i play:

Infinity The Game
Blood and Plunder
Kings Of War
Warpath
Dreadball
GuildBall
Most LCGs along with Ashes: Rise of the Phoenixborn and Crossfire .
There are over 100 board games on the shelf including hames like Mice and Mystics and Dungeon Saga which include miniatures.

What did i play:

Everything GW until 10 years ago. Sisters of Battle until 4 years ago

I have dozens of RPGs but am not actively playing any except Shadowrun .

I will not be picking up Runewars Miniatures as there are to many Miniatures games in the active list already and KoW scratches a similar itch.

Too many. Listing them just makes it worse.

Legions of unpainted minis call to me from the shelves.

"But what about us? You painted us!" call the ones displayed nicely in the Ikea detolf.

"You owweeeeee ussssss.... let ussss liveeeeee..." groan the hordes of bare-to-primer figs.

"Shut up, Runewars comes first" I tell them, but still they haunt me in the night...

In all sincerity, and not trying to be snarky, or a jerk, but with honest curiosity... why are you here, then? I mean, if you've already made the decision that you definitely won't be buying in I'm missing what allure a bunch of people hyped for release day has for you.
