Going to fly this at locals. What do you guys think?

-Dengar (33)

-Lone Wolf (2)

Overclocked R4 (1)

Engine Upgrade (4)

-Punishing One (12)

-Bossk (35)

Veteran Instincts (1)

K4 Security Droid (3)

-Zuckuss (1)

Inspiring Recruit (1)

Engine Upgrade (4)

-97 Points.

To keep up with Whisper. ;)

Bossk looks ok, but in the high powered offense today, is he going to do enough damage before he dies to justify the points? Most competitive lists run him with missiles for an alpha strike.

If you stress Dengar, his moves are going to be really predictable. Recon Spec is probably a better choice. Rec Spec and R4 agro are a nice combo on Dengar.

Dengar (33)
Lone Wolf (2)
Recon Specialist (3)
R4 Agromech (2)
Punishing One (12)

Bossk (35)
Determination (1)
Homing Missiles (5)
K4 Security Droid (3)
Zuckuss (1)
Inspiring Recruit (1)
Guidance Chips (0)

Total: 98

I dont think bossk can afford not to fly without determination these days. RAC/Kylo is becoming popular and bossk cant afford to not shoot in his very limited lifespan. RAC/Kylo can keep him from shooting for two rounds, and then drop him to PS0 the third round, pretty much making bossk not attack for the game.

I've been trying to run a solid Dengar/Bossk list for a while, so thanks for the ideas. Here are just some of my thoughts:

1. Isn't determination a little too situation-specific to be useful? I just think that the requirement of a pilot crit is too specific to be useful. I also really like running two ships at the same PS, which means I usually put VI on Bossk. It gives you a little bit more flexibility.

2. What would you do with the last two points? My thoughts would be to either run Predator on Dengar instead of Lone Wolf, or put Dead Man's Switch On Bossk as an Illicit. Do you think you need to fill one or two points here, or is the bid for initiative more important?

I agree with what Wurms wrote about dropping VI for determination and adding a missile to alpha. However, I would personally keep engine upgrade for maneuvering. That's just personal preference though.

For the points, and accounting for expected longevity, Burnout SLAM is usually enough on a YV, I my experience.

So, after toying around with this list and adding my own personal flare, here is what I came up with.

Dengar — JumpMaster 5000 33
Lone Wolf 2
Recon Specialist 3
R4 Agromech 2
Punishing One 12
Ship Total: 52
Bossk — YV-666 35
Veteran Instincts 1
Homing Missiles 5
K4 Security Droid 3
Inspiring Recruit 1
Zuckuss 1
Dead Man's Switch 2
Guidance Chips 0
Ship Total: 48

I was able to play three practice matches against three different lists over the weekend, and won all three with this list. I really enjoyed playing with it, and maybe this will give you some ideas on your own Dengar/Bossk list.
