That is the comment of the thread, man. Just love it !

I read the bad comments under the video posted in some thread below and can't understand why peoples are so mad at a game they just merely saw in a video ? I mean, I have also made bad comments by just reading an article or watching a video, I'm not perfect, far from it, but I think that all those peoples just have to come here and read the large amount of information we shared these past two-three months. To me who wasn't used to gather so much information around a game I wanted to buy, this is the first time I'll buy a game that I've read nearly everything around and still being positive to it.

I hope they'll give us a campaign scripted like a descent one or a battlelore scenario. Not in terms of rules and gameplay of course, but in term of organization. Would be interesting to have a branched campaign like in descent where if one side win the skirmish A, then play the scenario B and so on till the grand finale. Would be challenging. Imagine one second : you play as Daqans the scenario A against Waiqars or Latari (let's pretend) and you have full freedom to bring any unit onto the battlefield. But, if you lose to the Elves, your second battle will be without rune golems or with weakened units... you see, some kind of challenge scenarios bound together into a small or big scenarized campaign...

Oh well, i think i'll write a campaign scenario for my Waiqars... Let's go write it down ! :D (yeah, i'm overhyped again....careful everyone, Nonsense talker returns!!!)

This is why I'm hoping we at least get a world map, although after the BoW flip through of the lore book it doesn't look like we will. I would love to be able to read the lore book then sit down and outline a campaign.

With that universe and setting behind it I can see this becoming a huge success. And with the demise of WFB there are probably a lot of people out there looking for a game to replace it.

but this will be more historic style mini's game I don't see this being very similar to WHF

It probably attracts some attention but Im unsure if the funky rules and dice might scare people off? But how sweet wouldnt it have been to see FFG take on WFB!

True, GoT is a more realistic setting but they both share the gritty and filthy brutality.

It's got my attention but it's too early to know how good/bad it will be. It's got Eric Lang involved so that's a good sign.

It could have clansman, Viking (greyjoy), Mongol (dothraki) and undead factions.

It doesn't just have to be boring knights on knights combat.

The entire point of game of thrones is nothing is balanced, and the families have inequitable resources that they use to play to their strengths. The Targaryens didn't show up and say "you know what, since we have 3 dragons we'll drop some infantry units to balance out the fight"

If the undead and dragons have to balance out with Starks, Lannisters, and Baratheons the game has already lost me, due respect to Eric Lang and all.

If I'm not mistaken, Eric Lang was hired on as Director of Game Design. That doesn't mean he will actually design SoIaF, apart from a short shot of him helping in the trailer. Looking at the images available, it looks like the game is pretty far along. It also looks like a standard miniature game with numerical dice. A standard to-hit seems to appear on the cards, along with defense (lower looks to be better), movement, and morale. Looks like random charge distances for cavalry (maybe infantry).

Miniatures are very nice but appears to be a standard, old school miniature war game.

I just know people tend to get fanatical about their favorite designers, so I just want to make it clear my skepticism about the game is not about disrespecting Eric Lang. It's about the product itself.

Let's maybe reserve judgement until we know more, there could be many directions this could go and the information we do have is extremely sparse

The designer is Michael Shinall but Eric Lang is involved in the project.

People can be skeptical, that's fine. If someone were to say 1/10 definitively having not handled, or played it, that's more the problem. To my knowledge no one has definitively stated good or bad.

This is my point as well, if you balance the game for the different non-group of knights factions it will no longer feel like aSoFaI game because the Greyjoys were only able to conquer because the north was left vulnerable, the Wildlings can't actually organize well enough to beat organized armies or for that matter a wall that is loosely defended, the Dothraki were beat by a group of eunuchs with spears who they outnumbered 10 to 1, the White Walkers are all but invincible unless you have dragon glass, valerian steel, or a dragon, and finally Daenerys Stormborn of the House Targaryen, First of Her Name, the Unburnt, Queen of the Andals and the First Men, Khaleesi of the Great Grass Sea, Breaker of Chains, and Mother of Dragons has dragons that can kill everything in a fly over. Also something I just realized a lot of the major battles in aSoFaI have been seiges, so...yeah...

Well Jek, great minds...
