Who's gonna mod their Hammerheads?

Yes, but if you were a producer of star wars material responsible for making artwork, if you tasked the team to depict a "star destroyer", it was always a II, regardless if the writers were writing about ISD-Is. Nobody in authority cares, a "Star Destroyer" was the high def ESB ISD-II one.

I mean, it's telling when to get to the original ISD-I configuration, you need a modification kit to change what comes out of the box.

Yet, the FFG art team HAS produced ISDIs in the past. So someone there clearly knows that there are differences...

Oh? Where? The Imperial-I ship card depicts an ISD-II (No baffles, bridge spine). The Promo card of the ISD-I depicts an ISD-II (horizontal targeting bar). All three title cards depict an ISD-II, arguably except for Devastator because there might be engine baffles... but the targeting array is still horizontal. So... *shrug* Maybe the card game?

We're drifting off topic though.

Precisely.

Thank you for affirming my point, even though I'm sure you didn't mean to ^_^.

Bottomline, the Hammerhead (as in the line, not the individual ship) started with KotoR. The class of ship itself is completely irrelevant to the discussion..

Anyone ever mention that the Star Destroyers are all "inspired" by the Acclamator Class Assault Ship....

Or that the USS Iowa Class Battleships were "inspired" by the First Ironclad warships?

Most designs are inspired by other designs....
