So something told me last night as I got in the car to head home (the opposite direction of my local shop) to call and check on the game. I had not read that the 19th was supposedly the release date, I thought it was sometime next month, but I had a hunch.

I was right. They got it yesterday, and had one copy, which they were kind enough to put on hold for me. If it wasn't for a Warhammer Fantasy Roleplaying session last night already planned I would have u-turned and picked it up. Heh.

So guess where I am going at lunch.

Call your local game store if you want this game, they might have it.

I've been harrassing my LGS since last week almost daily.

Thankfully long compile times on some code bases will at least give me SOME time today.

First impressions, lots of empty space in the box, for it to be that big, must be intended for expansions?

My online pre-order just emailed me saying that it was in stock and should ship within 24 hours. Knowing him, there is about an 80% chance I will have it tomorrow (1/21), if not it should be waiting for me on Friday (1/22)!

Second impressions, the rules seem well laid out, and not nearly as thick as I was afraid they were going to be.

Will give more impressions after I've punched out the pieces and tried to play a game tonight.

Nice! I figured it would be out sometime this month, but I admit I didn't think it would be this quick. Guess I'm swinging by the old FLGS on my way home too! =)

will have to check how much longer canadians have to wait...

I've never noticed a huge delay in products arriving on Canadian shelves vs American ones personally, though I doubt I've been this close tot he launch date before either. =P

I'm also canadian and no word here, I'm good friends with owner of hairy tarantula(Local hobby store) and he said he would call me when it came in, forgetful fellow though so I might have to check me self.

Gameshop told me the distributor in Belgium ( Intrafin) is expecting Runewars to come in on their wednesday shipment,

Gameshop receives their orders on Friday, so with a little luck I'll be playing next friday evening ... one more week to go :-i
