Elysian Tauros Venator: Imperial guard jeep!

By Lightbringer, in Dark Heresy

Check this baby out: an Imperial Guard jeep! A lot of people have been agitating for an IG scout car for ages, looks like Forge world have finally put one together...and very nice it is, too!

You could put together an Inquisitorial one of these quite easily...

Yes! An official imperial design which is not heavyl armoured!

This gives a good "working image" about how utility vehicle could look like. I love it if something like this happens!

Very nice! Isn't this the first non-armoured vehicle they've done for the IG?

It's still likely to have some armour, and be fairly rugged in its own right - afterall, they're used by Elysian drop-troops, so they're likely tough enough to be deployed by grav-chute from passing aircraft.

Rumours for the background suggests that the Tauros Venator runs entirely off of heavy-duty power cells - everything from the engine to the weapons draw a charge from a massive battery system, reducing the need for extensive supply lines (no fuel or ammo needed for any given vehicle, just a way of charging the batteries). It's why the main weapon options are Lascannons and Multi-lasers.

Yay an IG A.W.E Striker. More useful to us roleplayers than the usual tanks.

Techinically a scout Sentinal is the only other soft skinned IG vehicle.

Hopefully if it's popular they might come up with other lighter IG vehicles.

I reckon it will be popular, though the resin is a little bit pricy. GW might do what they did with the Tau Pirahna and the Shadowsword: release it as a resin at first, then release it as a cheaper plastic.

Pricing is all: at circa £35 for one, I might buy one, but if they make a plastic at £15-£20 each, I might buy three...

It looks quite adaptable too: it's essentially a flatbed vehicle, so you can imagine troop carrying variants, armoured variants, ambulance variants, anti-aircraft variants...

Almost reminds me of the Warthog from Halo. Looks cool.

I love the look of this too. Anyone fancy doing the DH/RT stats for it?

Woot! Nice realisation of it. Thanks Santiago. :)
