In the game I'm running for my young son, Maz Kanata is rebuilding her castle on Takodana. She has rallied many ticked-off pirates to her banner (more than a few were present for the First Order attack) and is issuing letters-of-marque to harass FO operations.

I just picked up my first adventure supplement for this system, Mask of the Pirate Queen , and I'm sorely tempted to give Maz history with the Veiled Sorority.

I have some ideas, but would love to hear from the community. If you have any thoughts or recommendations on the incorporation of Maz into the adventure, or the events into the TFA era... or simply think this is a terrible idea, and would care to dissuade me... Please respond!

All I'm gonna say is that I walked in a few weeks ago, and my wife was (re)watching Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End, and I started tossing around the idea of, during the GCW, Maz organizing a Brethren Court of pirates, including herself, the Pirate Queen, Crimson Jack, Nym, and a few others.

He is likely dead by then, otherwise Hando Ohnaka would be the Jack Sparrow expy.

Yeah, Hondo's in there, too. No reason he's likely dead...he's still around and kicking on Rebels, which (as of the current season) is just roughly 2 years before my campaign.

Given their chosen lifestyle, there is a fair chance none of these pirates survived into TFA era? I suppose retirement, and continued relevance at the head of an organization, might be a possibility. I do rather like Nym's H-6 Scurrg, the Havoc .

I would like to use the rogues' gallery from Maz's castle for casting, maybe press the Crimson Corsair into service... I have yet to read Tales From a Galaxy Far, Far Away Volume 1: Aliens; I hope to fill in some details from those stories.

My campaign is in TFA era, and I do mean rebuilding following the First Order attack in 34 ABY.

And while I'm on the subject, I ran across a red ship in the Ship Art thread a while back, and can't seem to find it again. It wasn't the Crimson Corsair's, but perhaps it could be, after his ship was destroyed on Takodana?

Should you happen to know the ship I'm inquiring about (its appearance actually brought the Crimson Corsair to mind), and where I might locate it, I'd appreciate any leads. Thanks!

According to the Star Wars Complete Locations Maz does have a ship in the castle. It is called the Epoch Swift. Wookiepedia does have a small article n it.
