Let's not seriously consider that IG-2000 wont get immediately errata'd to scum only. Come on guys. As funny as this is, there is no chance it sticks at all. None.
TIE Aggressor with IG2000 title

I definitely agree with that (barring it somehow being intentional, in which case we'd probably get an FAQ clarifying that in place of an errata to make IG2000 scum only or whatever)

If this was somehow intended, FFG is throwing out the baby with the bath water as far as theme goes.
"And here are my IG-2000 Tie Agressors... How that's a thing I'm unsure, but here they are..."

See my, sorry, their FAQs, where one thing was errated when it does something (althought the real intention eas to fix something future), and the other... well, not so much.

Oh I know, and I'm not saying I think it IS intentional, just some like .01% chance that for some reason, they decided they wanted it there...
The Tactician fix was made because someone flew 2 tacticians + Vader on engine upgrade RAC at a tournament. It was basically what made aces obsolete before the rise of Palp. You could also swap Vader with Rebel Captive for the ultimate stress machine.

Go read the article. They said outright it was important because of the hounds tooth. Tactician on a front-arc only didn't bother aces before the rise of palp because you werne't going to be at range 2 in arc of RAC. Vader's a different story of course.
this topic never would have happened with GUNBOAT.

Well, if the anouncement has been of a "GUNBOAT aggressor", Yes, we would have more or less this same topic.

except more hype

That ship sailed a long time ago.

Frankly, if someone could consistently catch aces in RAC's front range-2 arc then they deserved to win a tournament. Particularly since you're giving up Gunner (and Isard, and basically all of your dice modification beyond RAC's semi-focus because you pretty much need to be a) PS10 and b) boosting a LOT to make that work).
It's not like it's hard for a tokened up Soontir to tank one 3-dice shot at range 2. The next round he's likely 5 straight-ing behind RAC to lose one of the stress and trusting Autothrusters to keep him safe (against, again, 1 3-dice attack). He might even get out of range the following round and then he's back in the fight.
I mean, it can be done. But you have to be both lucky and good, and most of the time if you really wanted to ace-hate then Gunner-Vader would be the better option. I reeeeeeeeeally don't see double-Tactician RAC as the terrifying exploitative boogeyman that you're making out it was.

In your example Vader is going to kill Soontir not the stress, since Vader RAC always is bad news for interceptors. I will not argue though that YV-666 was the catalyst for FAQing tactician.
Y'all familiar with the phrase storm in a teacup? If this isn't addressed and fixed before the release of the Tie Aggressor, I will eat one.
Conspiracy theory here. Maybe FFG is doing this on purpose. Folks will run out and buy more IG88 ships to get the title, then buy more tie aggressors than they would have otherwise. Then after a month or so, after sales have been maxed, they bring out the nerf hammer.
I hope they never FAQ this! If you can't figure out or wan't to exploit RAW with something that is clearly not intended, you probably can't handle a game like X-wing anyways!
LOL, That's probably the most absurde post in all thread, well trolled sir, well trolled.

But I already have more IG-2000s than I have TIE Aggressors.

Currently yes, because tie aggressors are not out yet.
I mean, I know several people who have 4 IGGies just because that's the Scum Epic option at the moment.

IG88 was a bounty hunter for the Imperials in the original trilogy... Honestly if FFG did not think about the IG title when naming the ship "Aggressor" they somewhat have a design problem... IMO it could make sense if the named pilot abilities are balanced to work with the title. Would be very lucrative for them if we have to buy 1 IG for every Tie Aggressor they sell. Might upset their customers though. We'll know for sur when the preview comes up.
Would also add a cross faction interaction to Scums/Imps. Currently it's almost only Rebel/Scums. It's Scums and Villainy, not just Scums :-)
To all the Common Sense Warriors in this thread: do you realize allowing common sense to rule the game interactions is actually dangerous? Who gets to decide what's "common sense"? What if I decide I'm more "common sensible" than thou? "See, they didn't write this on the card, but common sense tells us it should work this way, trust me." Very, very dangerous.
Also, advocating common sense as the Ultimate Judge means allowing the designers to create sloppy rules. Games with sloppy rules are bad games. Bad games don't get played for long.

And that's exactly why FFG needs to FAQ/errata the IG-2000 title and TIE Aggressor interaction, so we don't get to argue over common sense. The game designers the ones who get to decide, and nothing wrong if they use their common sense.

Noone advocates common sense as "Ultimate Judge". We advocate using common sense when designing the game rules.
So when do we think we'll see a spoiler and get to judge if this 8 page thread was worth it?
