I'm curious to hear of any updates that may have come from this! Phenomenal work!

New waves would be nice. I still want to see what they have especially with prow and hold hull zones.

HOLYCRAP! How did you get this far without letting us know?

Now I apparently need a HoloLens.

What version of the HoloLens did you use to create this?

Reasons

Man every time I watch this I get so envious of the types of games my is going to get to play!

This is all sorts of awesome. What is this holo lense? And why on Earth is this not friggin HUGE!?! (Popularity wise)

Because the Holo lens is a developer only product that costs thousands of dollars each.

But it's like computers in the 70's. Right now they are out of reach of the general population, but it's only a matter of time until this is the commonplace. Every tech company out there wants us all in glasses and watches replacing our cell phones as soon as possible.

Very true. I see stuff like this and think of games like sins of a solar empire. It only causes me to have a little fit of anticipation.

Yup. MS learned some lessons from the Windows Phone travesty about the criticality of app support to a device's success, and is pushing the dev version to try and get some baseline of 3D app support prior to release of the production version.

Some hardware manufacturers are supposed to be releasing consumer Win10 VR products (I think Lenovo, ASUS, and... maybe HP?) this fall in conjunction with the Fall Creators Update that just dropped. Generally in the $300-$500 range, I believe.

So will VR head sets be more popular that Holo Lens tech? Or do you guys see Holo Lens as a natural progression from VR? They seem like competing products yet can build off each other like Mac n PC.

I think this is probably pretty accurate.

I'm not super up to date on it, so somebody else might have better info, but afaik they're also not entirely mutually exclusive. HoloLens, being a Windows platform, supposedly supports things like SteamVR apps, for example. Microsoft is also pushing HoloLens on the enterprise side for some pretty nifty applications , too.

-shill disclosure: I do work for MS, but not in anything related to HoloLens, and I don't have any insider knowledge about it-
