What's your favorite LCG combo?

By WWDrakey, in 1. AGoT General Discussion

Even though actual combo decks are still quite non-existant, the AGOT LCG environment has grown enough to start having potential for real card combos. So I think we should have a thread to list the cream of the crop, it being combo -week. =)

Question: What is your favorite LCG combo, and why?

I think my answer to this would be the near-infinite save loop in Targaryen using Pentos, Dragon Bite, Daenerys Chambers and Disgruntled Mercenaries. Play dragon bites on your own characters, use them as saves with Pentos, and get them back for free with the jumping Disgruntled Mercs and Daenerys Chambers. Up to three saves per turn, and lots of triggers for your Xaro's Home draw engine. Fun and inexpensive. Valar friendly.

I'd have to say that Targaryen seems to be the best house for building proper combos ATM, although cross-house card combinations can provide some interesting ones as well...

Carrion Bird + Rhaegar's Harp. Nasty and nearly unstoppable.

Might as well copy the ones from the other thread here:

Carrion Bird + Old Nan/Lion's Gate (same thing as Stag Lord's combo above).

Maester of the Sun + Darkstar (free Darkstar and save)

All a bit situational but

Cathelyn stark with summer attached (esp if you have a bound by duty in your hand)

Desolate passage with scouting vessel

Devious Intentions in bara deck, works quite well with Prosperity and Plenty and all their chars with renown.

Was thinking about less-talked about combos, and hit upon a few that I haven't seen mentioned that much...

1) Plot deck with only City plots in it, and fast plot cycling. I think this would best be done running 3x Bran Stark , and trying to get him into hand for setup. Turn one, you could first put two cards into shadows, then pull off another city plot with better gold, such as City of Spies. Could be possible to get a huge kneel effect around turn three, if you can keep Bran alive with saves... and you're not fighting a burn deck... Shagga! Could also benefit from running some rookeries...

- This really made me think I've underrated the idea of running winter shadows in Stark, it just needs more lateral thinking. Hmm...

2) Long Winter in a Targaryen burn deck with Alliance while running winter, add Threat from the North and Dragonpit and Winds of Winter...

- I recall reading that twn2d was thinking of running winter in that Targ burn deck... and that was before PotS came out. Might be worth the try, thankfully immune to Compelled By the Rock. =)

You don't even need Alliaince to run that attachment out of Targ. Yeah - its pricey, but you get a LOT of bang for the buck with that. It empwoers a LOT of sick synergy/combos.

I liked it before LCG and I like it even now. Core Catelyn with Rusted sword. It can be a good stopper for one round in MIL if you bounce the sword for INF and a nice char for next rounds. Only now it can be improved with Bound by Duty.
