What makes Pattarini so good? Is there a formula we can apply to other squads?
Explain Pattarni Please
With Manaroo restricted to Range 1 now, it's not quite as good, but...
Attanni Mindlink + Manaroo meant that as long as just one of your ships got an action you could distribute four Focus tokens among your ships. This could be applied to any list with just Mindlink and Manaroo, however Asajj (with Latts and Evade action) is a major tank and control piece, and Fenn (with boost/barrel roll and PS9) is a major arc-dodger and offensive piece.
Simply put, it was incredibly well-rounded and action-efficient.

Do you think there is a way to make a squad just as effective, but without the same ships?

I'll bet there are a lot of Parattani players who are working on that right now.
Generally, if you can find a way to fit two or three beastly ships into a list, and then find a way to guarantee each of them tokens (sometimes multiple) and then additional support, you can get there.
Like if you had Palp X7 Defen...oh right.
What aboutDengar with Zuckuss and Manar...mm, never mind.
Generally I'm thinking that we won't be seeing anything of Paratanni level for a while. FFG did their best to wholesale nuke that level of power/reliability, which is why we also saw the loss of triple jumps back in the day.
Basically it takes 3 very efficient ships and puts them together.
The new FAQ made it less efficient, but I'd expect to see the same 3 ships just with Mana going down to a Contracted Scout with Intel Agent and maybe another 1 point upgrade.
It's not a dead list, it's just a little less efficient than it was, so it'll be balanced rather than overpowered.

I think FFG was planning this. They are adding Cad Bane and Jabba soon. They nerfed Scum for now, but then, BAM, we get new crew. Circle of gaming life.
I am 5/0 with Fenn, Palob and Manaroo and still having fun with it. The way I fly them means Fenn gets nothing from Manaroo but Palob still benefits hugely from flying close (even behind) to her. The "A focus for EVERYONE!" moments from AML are awesome and although the "a stress for EVERYONE!" is less awesome, it's still manageable.
I keep looking for other combinations of ships to try AML out on as it's a great tool but haven't personally found anything with better synergy or action economy than those three so am interested to see the comments and suggestions in this thread.
