Chewie with Draw their Fire could protect Miranda from Kylo. I'm not convinced you have the best crew on Chewie. Maybe move C-3PO to Miranda, trim the bombs and give Chewie Gunner?

I'm not worried about Kylo, specifically, but rather any and all crits on Miranda. I don't know if I care as much about Chewie having optimal damage output in the "Draw Their Fire" versions. I really just want him to play as a blocker for Miranda and create a sort of swath for Miranda to fly through. On the idea of moving C-3PO...if I did that, I feel I might as well drop the bombs and make her a TLT/HM boat. I'm not necessarily opposed to that, just not sure if I'm onboard with that yet.

I'm starting to like the Predator Chewie version. He can still play blocker for a while and is no longer tethered to Miranda in a dust up. Plus it frees him up to take the evade action without purely naked attack dice. If, between blocks and making himself a threat, Chewie can pull heat off Miranda and set her up for some bombing runs so she survives until end game, he'll have done his job.

I've found Miranda very hard to fly well, even worse who to fly with her. I've yet to fly Dashing Miranda (probably will later today), so that might be the clear choice. But every other combo I've tried, either Miranda gets pummeled early or her wingmen go down and leave most of the work up to her. I figure if there's a single ship which can soak up some damage for her, last a while and be a threat, it's Chewie.

I like Predator/Gunner/C-3PO/Evade Title on Chewie but it comes to 54 points so you would need to trim something off Miranda to fit it in.

I tried Dash/Miranda for a while. It's solid, but it took me a few tries to get Miranda right. I've been flying knife fighters since my start in the game. Learning to kite a K-wing was embarassingly difficult.

Hmm...I like that idea. What about this?

Yeah, I'm still trying. I've yet to win a game with her, bombers are not easy to fly. But, she does some amazing work when I do fly her, so I keep coming back. I really do feel like I'm on the verge of that "AH HA!" game.

So, assuming I got with this Predator version....how would you guys fly it? I see a ton of theory-crafting on lists, but very little discussion on how to fly said lists. My initial thought, which was really based on the "Draw Their Fire" version, was to plow ahead with Chewie with Miranda in his wake. I think I'd do mostly the same thing here, but probably break off that formation much early. Any thoughts?

After having played with Miranda/Dash tonight, I'm not sure if Chewie can improve on Dash as a wingman to Miranda. I want to log plenty of games with M&D so I can learn the list well before I move to a different wingman for comparison.

After you figure out Miranda and Dash, try Miranda and Corran. I don't particularly like Miranda and Corran, but playing them made me a better player.

Yeah, I'd tried that originally and it was a train wreck. Knowing when to have Corran zoom in, get his shots, then zoom out while also keeping Miranda alive? That's challenging.

My first couple tries at flying Corran were massively disappointing. I also had an irrational contempt for Miranda (especially as a primarily Rebel player.) After Kevin Leintz took them to the finals at 2016 worlds, I convinced myself to give both ships a chance.

Critical Mass (100)

Corran Horn (50) - E-Wing
Lone Wolf (2), R2-D2 (4), Sensor Jammer (4), Flechette Torpedoes (2), Stealth Device (3)

Miranda Doni (50) - K-Wing
Twin Laser Turret (6), Extra Munitions (2), Homing Missiles (5), Sabine Wren (2), Ion Bombs (2), Conner Net (4), Long-Range Scanners (0)

This list requires patience more than anything. I went 7-2; both losses against hard counters I asked my friends to build for testing. The name "Critical Mass" came to me when I identified a point in each game when either the regen made me unstoppable, or I suffered too much damage to come back from. I tried Miranda with Guidance Chips, but I got more use out of LRS. I considered tweaking it again to give Miranda Advanced SLAM, but I haven't ran this list since Wave 10 released. I'm scared to run Corran in a world with Kylo showing people his Dark Side.
