It isn't faction specific.

The Scurrg title gives it a salvaged astromech slot

My bad, I'm not really a scum player and automatically assumed R5-P8 was a normal astro. :P

Squinting at the scurrg I see interesting things.

1) the system slot 'mine map' (?) seems to let you place bombs in the deploy forces phase

2) no actual bomb cards in the spread but a unique 'bomb generator' (?) and 2 bomb tokens.

Yeah, but Focusregenbot is not a Salvaged Astromech. This also means rebels get to try unique Scummechs!

R5-P8 isn't R5-P9 :)

Cutlass Squadron with Unguided Rockets comes in a 23pts., 25 if you want to add Lightweight Frame for 2 Agi with 9HP and a 3 die, 1-3 range secondary that can't be modded by you or the enemy except by your own Focus.

System slot is opened up for other things now as FCS is no longer needed, AC doesn't work. Sensor Jammer for more tankyness, but that's kind pricy at 4 pts. Collision Detector for 0 or maybe some niche cases for Adv Sensor boosting since Hux is a thing* and you may be getting your Focus token elsewhere but I don't know about that.

Opening up the mod slot for LWF though is a good thing IMO.

* and Fanatical Devotion still works with Unguided Rockets

I like that better than 5 Bombers, honestly. 9 hp with 2 AGI is no joke. For system, if you have the points, I'd go Electronic Baffles. You get Rockets on red moves that way.

Although I like the design of the Synced Turret in terms of the primary arc mechanic for rerolls, requiring a Target Lock might be a bit much when looking at the range of only 1-2 and the cost of 4 pts. It takes a bit to really set it up and I don't think it will make a good return on the 4 pt investment.

Ah, yeah, good point, opening up red moves more; you have the HP to baffle some.

I am a confused person :D Unguided Rockets have me all giggely! TIE Bomber love, even though I probably have to buy 4 Agressors now.

Bomblet generator, almost certainly. And that will be a bomb upgrade I imagine.

Bear in mind you only have to HAVE the TL, you don't have to spend it. So as long as you can maintain it, you can carry on shooting every round.

You mean owning 4 TIE Punishers might pay off after all this time? :o

Oo, Punishers with use!
Might finally be able to justify getting a 2nd punisher for more mk2 engines. I like this.

...I'll be in my bunk.

I mean, that's got to be the most straightforward brutal jousting list to date, right? Instead of LWF, you could do Seismic Charges to carpet bomb stuff, that would leave a mod slot open for Long Range Sensors. You can't use it on the Rockets, but it would let you keep a TL in your back pocket for when you needed it.

20 with Lightweight Frame.

5x 3-attack, 6 hull, 3 AGI ships.

Or three of 'em and Whisper. Or two and RAC.

Wookiee Commandos is what was expected, you can re-roll all eyeball results when attacking. Not sure that's worth taking up two crew slots, unless I'm missing something; sure, if you don't have a focus token, it's helpful, but with that firing arc, why wouldn't you be taking Focus?

Because you have a reinforce action. It lets you be tanky without COMPLETELY gimping your offense.

I definitely understand that you don't have to spend it. I'll still wait until we see for the eventual article about the TIE Aggressor expansion to see more of the pilots and see if the uniques offer anything interesting.

Ah, right, Reinforce, got it.

It's like a grown-up version of the AC Tempest miniswarm that I was in love with for a hot minute after the Raider came out, not least because you've got a bunch of ships with a bit of a stiff dial and a desire to stay out of R1 (against most stuff). The Tempests had to go because they just didn't do enough damage, whereas this gives up some tankiness for some damage potential. If we're living in a world where extreme damage mitigation is on the decline and fat turrets and TLT carriers are making a comeback, massed red dice aren't a bad bet.

I would guess the first imperial turret carrier will continue the learning trend and have the unique care about arc. They are pushing that way with turret design in general and synced doubles down on that value.

Part of me can't help but feel this is all just a ruse to distract us from Jabba...

Double slot costs are a weird thing. If you weren't planing on using that slot anyways, they are nothing but ship restrictions, like with the new Missile. So if you are keeping the Wookie ship as cheap as possible, is that even an issue?

I still think the card is kind of bad as rerolling focus is so much worse than even just blanks, but I don't think it is just because it takes two slots.

Y + BTL-A4 + Agromech + Synced Turret

Ok, something that I noticed about the Scurrg; it only has a single Rebel pilot (and he's unique). There are no generic Rebel pilots. My brain had initially made an automatic association that the ship would have diverse cards of Rebel and Scum pilots, but that is not the case. Rebel players have no reason to buy more than one of those (unless there are some cool upgrade cards).
