He says absolutely nothing about the preorders affecting the reprint decision. At all. The decision to move to printing SoR was set. They thought they had enough. That didn't change until the actual sales numbers hit. There was not even a consideration of a reprint in November.

If you want to argue that they would have reprinted it if the preorders reflected the actual sales - fine. That's speculation, and you're welcome to speculate whatever you want. But claiming that the low preorders affected anything is utterly without evidence.

There is nothing logical about what you're claiming. It's a purely hypothetical which is based in nothing . Would they have ordered more if the preorders have been stronger? Possibly. But that's not the same as making a decision based on the low preorders. There was not even a consideration for a reprint before December, how could it have been affected by the preorder numbers?

The fact that they are reprinting now because of demand shows the causality, If you don't see how that directly correlates to if pre orders were higher FFG would have started the printing process much sooner then nothing I say or anyone else will to sway your stance.

Soviet prince makes no sense and I will not try to untangle his response.

Maybe I'm just too casual. I don't pre-order. I don't spend hours scouting the net to save a dollar. I don't obsess about gotta get'em all. I simply want to walk into a store, spot a game I'm willing to try and buy it.

Nothing wrong with that, in the BG community preorders dictate a lot so its relevant.

it makes plenty sense to me, no where in the comments you posted did it say it was effected by the preorders, what I did hear is they had it set before the preorders went up.

Correct.

However, you do not seem to understand that because of the low pre-orders SoR was put into production and that resulted in the inability to react to the higher than expected demand that only became apparent after the decision to produce SoR was made. Had the pre-orders been better then FFG may have reacted in a more timely manner.

This isn't what he said. He said that by December SoR was already in production. At no point is the decision to do so linked to the preorder numbers.

And it honestly couldn't be. Assuming that April was always the target, production on SoR had to start even before November. This also matches what he said, that they were "deep in production" by the time the popularity was apparent in December.

The math on this isn't hard. If they started trying to reprint Awakenings in December, and it arrives in June, that's six months. Maybe starting he second line was harder, but he does also say that production has gotten better, so if anything it's probably shorter than the SoR print time. That points to starting in October or even earlier.

You're right. Gencon was at the first week of August, Destiny released in December. So right around October/November they needed to decide if what they had ordered of Awakenings was enough to satisfy the demand. Based on the low pre-order numbers to that point and the fact that they ordered more for this game than any other game they produced, they decided that what they had ordered was enough and decided to order SoR. I'm sure if the pre-orders numbers were very large they would have instead delayed SoR and ordered more Awakenings instead.

don't patronize me, I just make it simple

they no where in the article said the amount of product shipped out was effected by low preorder, but they did say the amount was decided BEFORE the preorders

Build the time line of events, the low pre-orders had an effect on what came next. What happens next then impacts on the supply of Destiny.

the initial shipment should been bigger, ccgs rely on there being leftover product to sale for impulse buyers and prizes for tourneys
