Peace is a lie, there is only passion.
Through passion, I gain strength.
Through strength, I gain power.
Through power, I gain victory.
Through victory, my chains are broken.
The Force shall free me.

You've failed, your highness. I am a Jedi, like my father before me.

So many projects, so little time (and Wookiees).

Erm, I dabble with both sides, so what does that make me, Hondo?

You indeed are a 2 point officer who gives tokens to opponents!

You mean messes with opponents

Both? Oddly, I sometimes know my opponent's fleet better than he does, having used all the ships at least once and having read these forums. . . I also am the one in charge of the 'administrative' part of the game: handing out tokens, announcing the phases, preparing the set-up area, assembling the physical models. . . :D

Hopefully never. But if FFG thinks it'll sell we'll see it.

I can't work out what FFG's policy is on the old EU stuff. It seems they use it sometimes (Marek Stele in the last wave) but then I get a sense we will be seeing only new canon stuff from now on for the most part.

However, the Quasar was in the EU until Rebels used it- it was introduced in "The Truce at Bakura"

However, the Quasar was in the EU...

I read this much of the sentence and got excited that you were saying it's ready to ship in Europe. Now I'm sad again.

so for ships the Imperials need the Vindicator Class ( which the Interdictor was of the many variants built from this frame)

the Rebels need the Dreadnought Class ( which the MK I & MK II Assault Frigates were converted from).

the Dreadnoughts could also be the 1st multi faction release as they were part of the GAR at the end of the Clone Wars.

as for squadrons the Empire could receive 2x Tie Striker, 2x Tie Reaper, 2x Delta class shuttle t-3c, 2x Zeta Class Transports.

the Rebel squadrons could be 2(or 3)x U-wing, 1 (?)x X-wing (blue Squadron), 1(?)x Y-wing (Green Squadron), 1(?) a- wing (phoenix Squadron).

sooner or later the MC75

Less squadronz, plz.

Seriously, I think we'd be 100% ok with no squadron packs between now and next year. We're swimming in squadron options as it is. I wouldn't be adverse to the Pack II's squadrons getting the same campaign box treatment, but we really don't need another launch of squadrons. At the absolute best, they could borderline justify the outside possibility of a hint (I'm really selling this, aren't I?) of a Rogues & Villains II, but even then, I think we're pretty saturated for now.

Also, having gone through the whole multi-faction release thing with X-wing, I really hope they don't go down that route with Armada. The distinctiveness of the ships is part of what sells the experience. Gameplay > fluff.

I'd be surprised if the next wave wasn't an Imperial large base, and a Rebel medium base. I have thoughts on what role they'd fill, but not necessarily the ships they are. I'd be shocked if the MC75 wasn't the Rebel option though; people want it, and they want Raddus.

AF1

That's all I have to say about the next rebel medium ship

:D :D   :P :P

MC-75 for the Rebels and Death Star for the Empire; the Death Star will only cost $666.00 USD (+$72.43 shipping/handling) and will have to be placed off map with a special map ring around its equator that only allows squadrons. Limited field of fire, and its only movement will be a few degrees of rotation per turn, in order to try to point its one and only weapon at something.

Hull: Infinite; can only be destroyed by a crit from a squadron fired from just the right spot on the Squadron ring around the model. The squadron must have Bomber, and it must be able to re-roll the first crit to get a second crit. If it does, the Death Star is destroyed.

AA: 1 blue

Battery: 6 red without range limit; if any hits get through to hull, the target is immediately destroyed.

The Death Star will include Emperor Palpatine and Grand Admiral Thrawn commanders; Palpatine will have the same ability he used to have in X-wing, only it will be once per activation instead of once per turn.

I'll go against the chalk and say the Carrak class light crusier for the Empire. It was in all of the early EU books. Or maybe a Lancer class frigate

I agree with this fully, but I have a bad feeling we'll be seeing squadrons with TFA coming around. New A-Wing, new resistance bomber, Kylo's fighter, whatever new things Rebels adds this season, and the stuff from Rogue One that still hasn't pushed (U-Wing, TIE Striker).

Sadly, it's coming...
