Wave 7 prediction thread

By Gottmituns205, in Star Wars: Armada

I also believe it will be Venator vs MC75 although both seem a bit redundant with the ships already in the game.

Could it also be the couple of MC75 vs Resurgent Star Destroyer? They are both the "new" ships.

And if we are talking popularity. People love the Dreadnaught. And it would be a nice opportunity to add Thrawn to the mix.

I really hope the next wave is nothing from ep 7 onwards, it just won't fit thematically.

I don't think we will get any thing from the 'deep' EU, as per my earlier post. I think it will be mc-75 for the Rebs & stormtrooper boarding units for the imps (to build on the new features of wave 6).

yeahhhh but I'd try to give it a small lifting perhaps? It looks a bit bland for a Star Wars ship!

As of now, my only request is.....

NO Bulwark Mark III, Please!!! http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Bulwark_Mark_III

(I'm playing SW Rebellion on PC and reminded myself how out-of-place and ugly they are, lol)

Didn't somebody start a thread praising them a while back? I'd be happy to seem them join in on the fun, but they do indeed desperately need a change of looks. . . like, a complete overhaul.

Linkety link ;)

Originally I thought they looked ugly as hell... Now they kinda remind me of this poor little guy!

Thanks for the link!

Also: 'Originally I thought they looked ugly as hell' doesn't really go with 'Now they kinda remind me of this poor little guy!' since my initial reaction the 'poor little guy' was 'dang that's ugly!' Although I must admit it's growing on me. . . (the fish, not the ship, that still is pretty bad) :)

Awww... How could you?! He's soooooooo cute*!

*I may be biased though as I used to keep oriental Goldfish when I was younger.

2 more flotillas that will actually be jammed with the wave 6 release. And then super long production delays so we don't get anything until the end of Q3, right before the next wave is announced.

The survalince Gozanti from last week's Rebels episode as a flotilla. Croc cruisers as a flotilla. Some more picket class ships for both factions (small and medium such as carrack cruisers, dreadnoughts, vindicators, Corrilliean gunships, IPV-1 patrol craft)

MC75 and the Venerator (finally)

If there is no Venerator then my bet is on an SSD and the introduction of the epic format.

This is probably unrealistic, but I'd like to see the imperials get that shield gate, possibly in a future campaign. It looked like it was holding its own against a large rebel fleet even though it was stationary. It could probably have a high squadron value as well as a 360 degree arc. Make it big model rather than like our current stations.

Look at release dates in Nostro's post that Visovics is quoting:

Wave 3 (Announced March 16, 2016 / Released August 11, 2016 )
Wave 4 (Announced May 20, 2016 / Released August 5, 2016 )

I really couldn't be bothered to find any source more authoritative than the SW:A wikia, and that's exactly the info on their front page. I couldn't be bothered any more than that because I was answering the insane claim that Armada averages one release per year, despite the common sense that this is our sixth wave plus a bunch of other non-waves, for a game that was released less than two years ago.

The imperials get the Flurry!? This just killed my Escort Carrier Ton-Falk dreams.

I doubt we will see the Corellian Gunship now too.

Also I don't believe that because FFG always releases stuff on Thursdays. Its always been that way.

Veteran/famous ship bundle with 2 ship (one rebel and on imperial or 2 flotillas) in pack with repacked ships, new titles (one title for each relased ship, upgrades, and maybe ship variant eg. Gonzanti wih Elint from last SW Rebels)

Or thematic box (blockade run/convoy/escape from hoth) with few ships(hot escape - rebel transports with two squadrons of x wings (meybe one named) vs Victory or Arquitenes and two tie)

This is I really want to see

Ultimately the exact dates aren't really important. It was just an interesting discrepancy that was pointed out.

While it's true the Imps could use another big ship, I have to wonder what could be done using ship synergies. As I understand it, the Hammerheads are "meant" to be used in tandem? So why not release the Venator with this same ability? It is larger than the Victory, but still smaller than the Imp. Allow it to function as a single ship landing right between the two, or function as a paired unit that gives it more punch/versatility per point? Maybe something like "combined fire" rules that add dice to your attacks, or allow you to re-roll misses when they work as teams.
The same could be done using the Dreadnought for the Rebels. At 600 meters, it's a solid "medium/large" ship on its own, and a solid "large" ship as a pair.

As a closing thought, I have to wonder how much longer it will be before we see Chiss variant TIE's. With Thrawn canon now, why not his people's version of the TIE?

You may call it that,

But it was two Distinct Waves, with two Distinct Testing and Development Periods, that only ended up happening together, because Wave 3 Was heavily delayed by Manufacturing and Shipping, especially considering the Port Explosion, Backlogs from that, and then the Hanyan Shipping Crisis...

Which made them delivered at the same time.

But they were still two distinct, separate, developed waves.

That is how FFG considers them. That is how the Distributors considers them. That is how Retailers had to Order them and get them Delivered.

:D

I do call it that, for very good reason, the FFG SKUs. The Liberty & Interdictor are SWM16 &17, that's wave 4. The Flotillas are SWM 18 & 19, for wave 3. Hmm, something wrong here.

It is obvious to me that the split the wave, and attempted to get the Flotillas out first to appease the "Armada is dieing" crowd.

They may have been announced separately, marketed separately & shipped separately, but it would take some serious FFG internal proof to convince me the didn't start out as the same wave.

New product releases require consistency in both quality and schedule to maintain retailer confidence.
