I could have sworn there where rules somewhere for throwing a melee weapon, something like "use Ranged(Light), add Brawn to damage, 1 Setback for Improvised Weapon". In particular I was looking for a lesser version of the Ascian Throwing Dagger, which although cheap is rather rare and didn't fit the character i was trying to put together (PC so rules matter, cant hand wave). Can anyone point me in the right direction?
Throwing a Combat Knife
I don't have it, so can't verify, but found an online reference for Onslaught at Arda?
Why do you need rules? What you propose sounds reasonable to me, roll it.
Good to hear my head is screwed on Pirate, thanks. I just thought I had read it somewhere and I have a habit of questioning myself.
Or use the Ascian throwing knives and modify the damage to be more in line with a combat knife (I'm assuming the combat knife has a lower damage then the Ascians if should be under Ascians for sure) even a setback die on the ranged light check for not being designed to be thrown.
The Ascian have the same damage, but lower crit (2 vs 3) and Pierce 2. 65cr/7 vs 25cr/1 is the resultant difference from those stats.
I'd just use the combat knife specs, ranged light with a setback.
I might not even include the setback. If it was bigger I would, but it's tiny with piddly damage.
Thats true, this is no show stopper. Its a Gunslinger with Lethal Blows and standard attack difficulty thats the winner winner chicken dinner here.
Edit: To be clear the character is starting out limited in resources, ultimately the Ascian daggers are exactly what he will use. In the end the combination of Improved Quick Draw, Sorry About the Mess, Lethal Blows and Guns Blazing allows a modest amount of damage. Deadly Accuracy increases that damage significantly, but Crit's at CR1 and +20 each is the sweet spot. Add the Merc Soldier Spec and you get 2 Point Blank talents, Strong Arm, Natural Marksman, another Lethal Blows, and 2 True Aim ranks... So your can throw to Medium, cause base 10+S (8+S at Medium) damage, Pierce 2, with Crit 1(+30 to all crits). 2 Strain to not increase difficulty for TWC. Yet its actualy the Vigilance and Coercion this character rules supreme at, and to begin with those knives will be doing bugger all damage. Its an interesting idea that could also be tweaked with Saboteur/Demolitionist for grenade use, and of course the old bola/net is in the mix as well.

Nice! Do you know what kind of campaign you'll be in?

Setback for melee weapons that weren't originally intended to be thrown such as a hatchet or melee dagger. Remove the setback for weapons designed to be thrown such as a throwing axe or throwing knife....then give them a setback if used in melee. I've made "Weighted for Throwing" an attachment for certain melee weapons which does what I just described.
