Hi all

I've recently started playing Xwing and mostly got Imperial ships but also got

few rebels for upgrades - can someone advice on what to make of my limited rebels pool

I have

Core sets (old and new)

A-Wing

U-Wing

maybe can get X wing or/and B wing too

Well, you have two cool aces in the form of Jake and Poe, why not team them up with your U-wing and go from there? Jake needs PTL and Proton rockets, Poe needs R5P9 and veteran instincts. Ideally you want green Squadron test pilot to give something else to Jake but you need Rebel aces for that.

Luke is always cool. T-65s are tricky to make work, though it's perfectly possible. Check out Wedge with BB8 and push the limit! Choose a green manoeuvre, barrel roll, push for a second action. Assign stress. Perform green manoeuvre to clear stress. Perform another action. Shoot with target lock and focus and Defender gets one fewer green due to Wedge's ability.

I can understand 1st part but how I'll get

Well, the barrel role from BB8 is a free action from which you can trigger push the limit. You then perform the move on your dial, and because this is green it clears the stress from push the limit. You then get to perform your normal action. During all thus you have hopefully acquired a target lock and a focus. You can use these when the combat phase happens.

So you reveal a green maneuver, BB-8 triggers and you barrel roll, Pus the Limit says "after you perform an action perform another + take a stress," so focus action and take one stress, then you perform said green maneuver which clears the stress, and finally perform a target lock action during the normal perform action step because you no longer have any stress. Then combat happens and you have a TL + Focus.

Luke with Expertise and R2-D2 is expensive, but solid. Not cutting edge, but if you really want to fly him this is about as good as he gets.

Jake is in Rebel Aces, which is not on the list. @Spellscape Jake is awesome, Rebel Aces is awesome. I highly recommend this over an X-wing or B-Wing expansion.

But anyway I still haven't used Rebels (but played against) can you give me some advice on making X wings more maneuverable? because I still don't know how to use them correctly

How to give Wedge barrell roll ?

If you equip BB-8, then whenever you perform a green manoeuvre you may take a free barrel roll. Or you could give him Vectored thrusters. I suggest the former.

I started with X-Wing/U-Wing/X-Wing and it was a lot of fun. It also feels like a real escort mission!

Still only run that or a triple X-Wing list, although I only have T-70s.

I really want A-Wings next as they're my favourite ship, I want Jake F but I'm not really a fan of the B-Wing so I haven't gone for Aces yet.

Remember I'm a new player too and I don't really know what I'm doing!

PTL can only be used once per round, so that synergy with bb8 doesn't work unless there's something I'm missing

You are not using PTL more than once in the above example. It's how it works and it really is an awesome combo. I know it sounds confusing at first, but trust us, it works that way. BB 8 gives you a free action, which is enough to trigger PTL and gain a stress. Execute green maneuver after the PTL action, clear stress and then do your NORMAL action. It's wicked and subtle. When I read the cards I had to ask the more experienced players if it woul actually work, thinking I had come up with genius idea that would rock the meta. They dashed my hopes, but at the same time made me feel better by confirming I was learning how to work out synergies by pointing out, "Yeah, people use that exact build all the time." So much for my "discovery", but hey, I had figured it out on my own! I'm a real boy now!

Very similar to using it with Tycho who is the A-Wing pilot who can perform actions even while stressed. When I run Tycho I have to carry extra stress and carry a D20 with me because he ends up with so much stress trailing along behind him. Espsecially when you use the title to add Rage as the second EPT. I pile up stress until I have more than I have tokens and then dial a number up on the dial. That plus tokens on the table is stress total. I've seen Tycho builds flying around in excess of 20 stress if the match goes long enough.

sorry, i thought I read that you used PTL after the second action as well
