As far as we know..... some have speculated that one of the titles will be a stolen rebel version. No evidence whatsoever, but.......

I really doubt they would do that at this point. There is no way they would give the rebels two ship types to play with especially when the rebel ship is meant to be played with two in formation.

I wonder if this bird can take flighter controllers AND expanded hangars....

I imagine 5 Interceptors + Howlrunner + Sloan alpha striking a bomber ball would do.....

Oh wait the .gif is above.

Edit: don't forget the red anti-squadron dice.

One can only assume so, given that the two slots the boarding parties take are OR and WT

If the light carrier comes in around 30 points I'll nab three of them and an ISD 2 and as many ties as I can take.....

My bet is 45-50 points. That would be my hope anyway.

Doing a reckless run through the list build says you can pick up 16 generic Tie fighters with 134 points. After buying into the base of ISD-1 super carrier you are left with 123 pts (121 if Sloane is 26). Surprisingly, you still have enough to buy 5 bare gozantis with 6-8 points remaining. Lets see how the light carrier can make controlling this circus of a list little easier.

Seems legit :D

I'd probably run a carrier ISD 1 with two carriers and a gonzo with repair crews (maybe 2)....and fit in as many ties as I could.

I was searching like a madman for that gif

So was I.

So how about....howlrunner + black squadron escort + rudor + 11 generic ties.

Leaves 8 points in the squadron pool....could grab Dengar and give the whole swarm counter...or throw in Rhymer and have them hitting ships at medium.

I've seen a Tie ball plink away my front shields....then the ISD follows up and smites your arse.

Oh, Dengar included without a doubt.

People aren't grasping how much of a hard fix to tie fighters this expansion is....I've seen Tie Balls die quick to the rebel x-wing swarm, and with Biggs and Jan it got so much harder...you couldn't count on 12 plus ties to do the job because in order to push them you needed a massive asset (like an ISD or a carrier VSD.)

Now we've got a cheapo pusher that can throw 5 or 6 down range and costs what...a 3rd of an ISD if that...and can support the anti squadron game....and an admiral that just made them use their core rules even better. I mean I never thought I'd get to use those 16 tie fighters...now I'm gonna!

Cause you know a Tie swarm throwing two counter back at you because your squadron game is so on point howlrunner and dengar are in on that naughty nonsense

I think I've officially made the jump..... I am MUCH more excited for the Armada news than the X-Wing news.

I can't wait for the battle reports.....

"That admiral is so OP....some dude threw down 16 tie fighter squadrons and I couldn't kill them all fast enough..."

I have some trepidations.

Last Regionals in calgary, I faced down a list with 10 Generic TIE Fighters, and I was *lucky* to be packing a couple of Z-95s, Xs and VCXs in addition to my Norra-and-the-Y-Babes ball...

It was rough to get through as it was... But yes, the secret's going to be... Generic Fighters, not Aces. Aces will die almost as quick for the expanded points investment, so unless you're really going to get use out of 'em... (And be happy that Jan will still be untouchable while Generic Escort is around)...

I might even throw in Rhymer...just so I can plink ships at long range and reroll the crits.

Rieekan Aces just got flushed out by a full house of imperial TIEs.

The wonderful thing about these additions is what they bring in potential.

You have to have a game plan against the TIE swarms now (that were totally non existent prior to this.)

There was no house, they filled the house so much it was even more full than a fuller house....they had tie fighters coming outta the demon hole.

Enough survived to hitch a ride on a Gonzo, but they left no X-wing with special gimmicks or the space wench in her hwk alive to tell the tale.

Now that I have 16 tie squadrons...one will be like this....just for the "wtf is that thing do" moment.

Wait...found it!

The armada news IS more interesting than the Xwing news.

(Huh. Interesting, "news" is singular here)

You know what I mean. X-Wing is one of the major factors that drew me back out of video games and back to tabletop gaming... so it's odd to me that something else is making me more excited.

News is always singular.
