Yeah, and then they strip the Defense Tokens from Ships 25% of the time. Even while TIE Fighters.

Or just outright kill them by rerolling those crits. However - all swarm ships (except Jumpmasters) have only 3 hull, so are very suspectible to flak fire and there are potentially some new antisquadron upgrades for ships. So Sloane may end up being somewhat mitigated by this.

I hope so, because between Sloan, Avenger, Red-Die Anti-Squadrons and Boarding Shenanigans, I'm not feeling the Rebel Love at the moment :D

Holy crap is that the Grand Inquisitor officer card??

I've been using Raiders with Flechettes, ACM, and APT, and can confirm they're already a toolbox. A beautiful, diverse, fragile toolbox.

That said, I can't see much of an argument in favour of Racks over Flechettes, or even APT, on them. A point more for consistent squadron control seems important now more than ever.

I have a squadronless fleet I've been wanting to try with 2 Raiders with flechettes... just haven't had a chance. What I'm potentially seeing racks on is Pelta 1

Actually think the Quasar will let more VSDs be in use. Being able to tank a little more, and still run your SloaneSwarm with the VSD+Quasar will be VERY nice...

Along with what can only be Cham Syndulla and Hondo Ohnaka (sp).

The rebels have had their love.

It is time for them to feel fear.

I can most definitely concur. . . this reminds me of a conversation I had recently had in the Future Upgrade Wishlist thread, and much the same sentiments were expressed. Then: Boom! An admiral who directly benefits fighters, heavy fighter boosts in their unintended roles (TIE fighter boost against ships), and possible anti-fighter upgrades. All mentioned in the previous thread. . . combined with the fact that much of the upgrades are from the various discussions about future upgrades (boarding parties, hammerhead ramming boosts, red die AS) are we sure that there is a development team at FFG, and not a bunch of guys implementing our wish-listing?

The most serious problem the VSDs have always had is their speed. Rebel ships at speed 4 just dance around them. Not sure how this helps them...

that depends on the role. I think you just don't realize how strong the Raider with Racks is. It becomes a mobile mine that can throw a blue and 4 black dice from a side arc at close range.

VSDs just got the ability to throw black dice at long range. I'm not sure if they're as boned as you think.

Racks are close range, if you meant them.

Looks like the Hammer Heads have a "title" slot called "Task Force" and it's not unique. Maybe the theme is if you run mutliple you get a buff? Sine they come in pairs.

I definitely expect this. Note that the box includes 14 upgrade cards and the picture spoils only nine. Maybe they're saving the surprise that you get one "Task Force X" and "Task Force Y" title for each of the ships in the box, with no limit.

I had to look up who Rae Sloane is.

  • All I could think of was Ferris Beuller. "Oh Sloane, dear. Hurry along!" "Guess that's my dad..."
  • She's apparently all over the Aftermath trilogy, and she's involved in not one but two Super Star Destroyers. SWM20 here we come.
  • Our TIEs will block out the sun.

These are SWM 26 and SWM 27. That leaves SWM 20 and 25 unaccounted for. Two mystery SKUs! Viscount? [Nope.]

I have a pair of squadronless MSU lists that I adore. Each has 4 Raiders, but the second has 2 with Flechettes. It successfully prevented a full Norra ball from firing for an entire game. Meanwhile, over in APT city, the other 2 Raiders were just having a ball harassing an MC80 from the rear.

I thought 25 was CC?

Edit: Indeed it is, so only SWM 20 unspoiled and unknown. . .

If the quasar has a turbolaser slot, that would mean TRC flak.

I sure hope it doesn't...

Yeah. Dang.

You only get an Evade with Needa, and it exhausts the Evade. That's too expensive.

Honestly, the Raider is unquestionably my most used unit in the game. I've played it in every imaginable variation. I get the power of one with Racks, but throwing out 4 black in a single shot isn't as impressive to me when I can drop face up damage cards with impunity, or Overload Pulse a linchpin ship, setting up a devastating attack (made all the more effective by Sloan).

I do totally get the power, and I understand where you're coming from. I'm not discount Racks at all (**** straight I'll be trying them out). I just think they'll serve better value on other ships. The Pelta I, as mentioned, would make a killer approach shot with Sato...

With Slaone and boarding parties being big threats in wave 6 ECM is in a troubling spot. Ether fleets using it will need to learn to stay at arms length of brawl fleets or its going to get dropped like a sack of rocks.

Well, it depends on how you calculate the cost. I mean, is a guaranteed 2 damage against a squadron worth it? What if it is an Intel ship and with it gone your squads would be tying up the bombers? what if it's one last bomber that could kill you? I agree it is too expensive for myself as well, but it could save your ship at a crucial moment.

@DUR

TRC Anti Squadron - You already can with Kallus on an Arquitens vs a Unique Squadron :D

Mine's an ISD, 2 Arq's and 2 Raiders

Not only ECM but TRC use as well as those evade tokens can disappear pretty quickly.

Goodbye oh so many old classics! Time to get used to no tanky MC80s, annoying TRC90s, and say hello to effectively an Imperial Nymball. . .
