Stats for Ewoks!?! Input needed

By Bluhfer, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

I'm not trying to have a go at Disney at all guys. I'm just saying they are protective of this stuff when it comes to the main canon, of which the lego games have nothing to do with. Disney likes to keep tight control which is why they made the EU into Legends. I'm not going off on an "Evil Disney" rant, I am just saying I don't think they would approve of Jawas being published in an RPG book, not before they get to have their own reveal about Jawa faces etc.

When in doubt: blame Disney.

Your spinning a tale that has no merit.

Why on Earth would Disney care of a licensed RPG had playable Jawas?! Do you really think that is something they are paying attention to?!

Dude. Relax. It was an idea. There is no need to throw a hissy fit every time someone you think someone is disagreeing with you. I don't care about Disney. I was just speculating on why I think they won't include Jawas.

And yes I think Disney care a lot about what FFG puts into their books, otherwise they would be licensing the tabletop game rights out to anyone willing to pay high enough for it.

Well thank you for speaking for the community.

I look forward to being wrong, but I would be happy to put money down that these will never be playable races in the rules.

So let's get this straight, you say things it is friendly banter and speculation. When I don't agree I need to "relax" and I am having a "hissy fit".

Great debating technique; always attack the person debating when you are receiving push back.

Your tone and words don't really seem like friendly discourse, and if I am mistaken about your hissy fit then why come back at me with an attack like this? Why not point out I am simply mistaken? This is why I think you need to relax.

You are quite a piece of work.

It is you who is using a disagreeable tone here and is being rude, disrespectful and obnoxious but you somehow think you can turn it around and make that about me because I object to being attacked?

Really? Do me a favor go back over our conversation and try to read my replies without this imagined "tone".

As I said previously, if I was mistaken, why not just say so rather than continuing in this manner? Anyway I'm done woth this. You've already managed to hijack this thread with your tantrum over someone having a different opinion to you. Hope life gets easier for you in future.

It was your behavior that hijacked the topic when you stepped away from the initial topic and started a thing about why "Jawa were never going to be pc races" and "ewok were worse than jar jar". The fact that I am answering you and am not willing to let your bullying continue does not make your inflammatory behavior justified.

Whoa, Whoa, Whoa!!!

Before this thread gets locked (and I remember some un/memorable ones- two years ago, anyone?) I would like to say that I don't know if we need official stats for Jawas and Ewoks as playable races, especially since it is relatively easy to stat them up. If the player wants to play the race and has a decent reason for why it would be an adventurer, then as a GM I wouldn't have a problem.

I don't see too much wrong with the OP's stats, except the strength. Other than that, I would say play it for a couple of sessions and see if you need to tinker. I would also add that an Ewok would take setback die to being understood unless there was a protocol droid nearby. C-3PO talks about rare dialects and all that... ;)

Aren’t Jawas in the Unofficial Species Menagerie? If not, then I wouldn’t necessarily have a problem with someone proposing some reasonable rules for them.

Either way, I think the key is they need to give me a good role-playing reason why their Jawa would be off adventuring instead of at home. Give me a good narrative, and a reasonable proposal based on that narrative, and I’m much more likely to be receptive.

But maybe that’s just me?

Lotsa places in the galaxy. Lotsa sourcebook fodder. I wouldn't be shocked to see Jawa and Ewoks. They did Gungans for goodness sake.

In my old campaign, we had a Jawa who'd cobbled together a ship made from an AT-ST head for the cockpit and random ship parts, then headed out into the galaxy looking for bigger and better salvage.

I'd approve that on the ship design alone.

Yes, they are, as are Ewoks.

Disney? Canon? Disney has nothing to care about what happens at my game table at home. And if changing / ignoring /getting back to old canon helps improve the player's fun, then it will be changed / ignored / switched back to the old one.

Maybe the species isn't space faring. But maybe one individual happened to get on board a smuggler's ship to explore the galaxy.

We have an ewok mechanic in our group. A lot of fun. And I don't see why canon or Disney should keep us from having this fun.

I remember a clan of Jawas working as bouncers in the Bantha Traxx club. BTW they sell there adorable dolls of Banthas, you really must have one ^_^ .

Took a while but we now have incoming ewoks!

I'd tend to agree with our dear pirate.

Not only is it simply too much clutter and special rules, but all of this stuff on top of a 100XP is also WAY more than any other race gets.

have you seen stats for pantoran?

oh it was more of a rhetorical question, because they have really good stats.
