Solitaire rules for Armada???

Wondering if anyone knows of/is working on any solitaire rules for playing Armada.

Have seen the AI for X-wing ships used in the Heroes of the Aturi Cluster campaign and thinking same thing could be done for Armada ships+squadrons.

Any help is appreciated....thanks.

The hard part would be deciding activation order and movement, and how it follows objectives.

Yeah, an automated opponent works okay for a game like X-Wing, where you proceed through the turn in a predetermined order. Less forethought goes into your overall turn, and the AI can do a passable facsimile of a human by just assessing the targets in front arc, activation after activation, and attempting to make the most of it.

Got hooked up on "Permutations of Movement".

I mean, in X-Wing... An Actual X-Wing has 15 potential (if not possible) Maneuvers to Decide between each turn.

In Comparison, a Cr90 has:

At Speed 1:
5 Maneuvers

At Speed 2:
16 Maneuvers

At Speed 3:
16 Maneuvers

At Speed 4:
45(?) Maneuvers.

Which, of course, does not account for the fact that a Single Navigate Command will both Grant a Speed Change (Which would open up 45+13 Maneuvers if you were travelling at Speed 3 or Speed 4), or the fact it adds a Click somewhere (adding, potentially, over a 100 possible maneuvers to a Corvette at Speed 4 - I mean, it adds 90 or so Maneuvers if you restrict that additional click to JUST THE FIRST CLICK...)

So the HoTAC style where you roll the die and find your maneuver? Not going to be quite that... Its going to be more "Shadowplay" where you, as the player, need to try to use "Common Enemy Sense" in doing your Maneuver, and if that's the case, you might as well just be playing a game against yourside as both sides independently trying to win with each side and just *dealing* with the fact you have potentially-biasing omnipotent knowledge of the enemy side....

I ran into the same issue. And that was before determining activation order, and setting dials, each of which is a whole other barrel of fish.

Yep, I figured Maneuver was probably the thing to nail down. If you could get that, then the others are just matters of probability (be more likely to do this first, then this) - you could also potentially "Script" missions somewhat.... But it was all based on getting Maneuver to work.

And that was Hell.

Now do it for a CR90 with Madine and a nav token.
