Rebel Aces

By Rolotamasi, in X-Wing Squad Lists

I have been wanting to put together a Rebel Aces list comparable to my Imperial Aces list. All PS9 or higher with some repositioning and increased maneuverability. High defense and offense is a plus. Here is what I came up with:

(100)

Hera Syndulla (35) - Attack Shuttle
Veteran Instincts (1), Ion Cannon Turret (5), Operations Specialist (3), Engine Upgrade (4)

Jake Farrell (33) - A-Wing
Veteran Instincts (1), Proton Rockets (3), A-Wing Test Pilot (0), Vectored Thrusters (2), Push The Limit (3)

Tycho Celchu (32) - A-Wing
Adaptability (0), Proton Rockets (3), A-Wing Test Pilot (0), Vectored Thrusters (2), Rage (1)

My list is pretty set, most slots filled. Was thinking of the torrent on Hera. With TLT needing 2 miss for the OpSpec token wanted to downgraded it to get 2 prockets in the list. The other options there are Dorsal or Autoblaster and take an initiative bid.

What would you do?

I'd probably go with AutoThrusters over Vector Thrusters, at least on Jake. Without PTL on Tycho, you'll have to choose between Vector Thruster and Rage, which will make him not hit very hard at all. A-Wings are probably my favorite Rebel ship, but they can't put out damage worth crap after they get off the Proton Rockets.

I also think thats a lot of points to put into the Attack Shuttle, a ship that goes down as fast as a Z. I never have luck with them. For that cost you could put in a naked Ghost and go a lot more damage in the long run.

These are my favorite Attack Shuttles:

Sabine Wren (31) - Attack Shuttle
Push The Limit (3), Autoblaster Turret (2), Kanan Jarrus (3), Targeting Computer (2)

Ezra Bridger (30) - Attack Shuttle
Push The Limit (3), Autoblaster Turret (2), Jan Ors (2), Stealth Device (3)

Sabine flies like a mini-Dash. She's flexible enough to block or dodge, and can use Kanan to support higher PS aces.

Ezra is a cockroach.

I agree with @enigmahfc about Jake and Tycho. Jake doesn't need Vectored with his Pilot Ability; Autothrusters is unquestionably better. If you change your shuttle, you can afford a better EPT than Adaptability for Tycho (hint: PtL.) I would again use Autothrusters instead of Vectored, but on Tycho that's more debatable than on Jake.

I actually really like Elusiveness on Ezra - use the stress from Elusiveness to trigger his ability and make the attacker reroll a die as well.
