If discarding and removing are not the same, then Sabine is in a lot of trouble...
Edited by skotothalamosAs ive stated already, "Discard" and "Remove" are synonymous and just flavor text as to which one is used.
The FAQ people keep quoting is ASSIGNED which is a completely different word all together, as the word by default has nothing to do with removing anything (even though the actions lead you to think that).
The moment FFG puts a distinction between "Remove" and "Discard" so they are different keywords for this game, the moment a LOT of wording needs to change. One such example being above this post.
DO we still have no official comment for this problem?

It can take months to get an official response if you get one at all. I once got a response to a question 9 months after I sent it in.

Even then an email response isn't actually "official" as they have been overturned in the past.

FAQ rulings, card text, and even the rule book itself have all been overturned in the past. The only thing that makes developer emails less official is that the tournament rules don't mention them when listing the sources of official rules.

Closest thing we have so far is a FAQ Q&A.
QuoteQ: Is assigning a token from a ship to another ship the same as "removing" a token from that ship?
A: No. For example, if a stress token is assigned from one ship to another ship, it does not count as "removing" it from the first ship for the sake of game effects. Additionally, if a red target lock token is assigned from one ship to another, it is not "removed" from the first ship as the accompanying blue target lock is not discarded .
To me, this tends to imply that "remove" and "discard" are one and the same thing.
