DTT Question

By WGNF911, in Star Wars: Armada Rules Questions

I'm traveling for work this week, but I have DTT on the brain. Therefore, whilst I ponder issues that solve problems at work, I find myself distracted by tiny spaceships. Can y'all please help?

Here's the scenario: I have an Arq shooting 3 red with DTT. I roll 3 hits but I'm fishing for a crit/acc (let's say). I roll another red for DTT adding to the pool and it comes up blank. Can I discard that blank die that I "added to the pool" as the 1 die removed "from the pool"? I feel a bit silly asking, but I find myself lacking in experience with adding and removing. My inclination is yes, as that added die is now part of the "pool", it may be the one removed. Am I wrong? If so, please show me how. Thanks y'all and good hunting.

Yes this works.

Yup that is right. Add a red and remove a die. That die can be the same blank red you just added.

Also interesting is that you can remove ANY color. So the front of the VSD for example at close range can add a red with DTT and then remove a blank black.

Yup, that's the coolness of DTT

Thanks! That's what I thought but it seemed too good to be true hahaha. When I think about a rule like that (one that is a bit obscure-ish), I always ask myself two questions: first, would I want that effect and secondly, would I rule in favor of my opponent having that effect? If the answer is no to either one of those, then NO is usually the answer. I was coming up with yes for both on DTT. Thanks for being a sounding board.
