Why don't I see "Snap Wexley" used more often?

By RittsMJ, in X-Wing Squad Lists

"Snap" Wexley with Black One, R2 Astro, Primed Thrusters, VI, and IA is only 32 points and can be exceedingly squirrely. Why have I never seen it? I'm currently thinking of pairing him (her?) with a decked out Miranda and Asoka carrying Sabine.

definitely a he.

I've used him a few times and he's a hell of a lot of fun. I don't play competitively though, people who do might have reasons to not like him.

I like him at 35 with r2d2 instead of the generic r2

I've run him with BB-8 to some success. The issue is, he need a good squad, and he had trouble stripping TLs off others when he is so mobile. He can be fun and squirrelly, and if he can make it to one vs one, he is a great late game ace. But, it's making it there intact that can be difficult.

@Kreen agreed, I like him and blue ace for their manoeuvrability , but they can't carry a list

It's weird, because they want to take up an Omega Leader or Duchess type role of being a great ship to mess with the enemy and be an annoying late game ace.

But they cost too much to slip in ad a pocket ace, and don't really have the firepower/sticking power to make up for the investment. I might try Snap with a fat Han or fat Rey build, as those two can generally sort of fly themselves. And because they'll absorb the hate, Snap might last to the endgame. But I'm just not sure if he has a place in the current high powered metagame of token stacks and needing focus and rerolls.

Snap isn't used for the same reason none of the other T-70 pilots aren't used...they're hard to fly effectively. Even Poe (at any PS) is rarely seen making a cut at a highly competitive event. There's a thread where several of us have put out our triple T-70 lists, but there aren't a lot of stories of success.
