Good Xbox One Games?

By TitaniumChopstick, in X-Wing Off-Topic

Tons of great Xbox One games and don't forget that many Xbox 360 games are backwards compatible. I tend to buy games after they've been out on the market for awhile, since most games aren't worth the $60 price tag ALL are assigned at launch. If you're into RPGs Witcher 3 and Skyrim are solid choices. If you like open world games I'd recommend Red Dead Redemption (Xbox 360 game that's backwards compatible). I like narrative-based games like Shadows of Mordor, Alien Isolation, Dead Space and Tomb Raider.

If you like space games try Elite: Dangeros, you will love it for sure

My Xbox is here now! :) Currently in the process of updating though unfortunately... Anybody know how long it generally takes to update for the first time?

Depends on your connection and the size of the update. Could be anywhere from an hour to 48 hours on a really bad connection.

Assuming I had one to be eaten. ;)

Too real

Red dead redemption, gta 5, fallout 4.

My top pick would be Witcher 3, simply incredible. It's like watching a foreign (non-Hollywood) movie where the usual rules don't apply, the polish developers of this game made an epic rpg that is very different from all the other big studio RPGs.

Because Xboxlive will be a two way street with windows games, it will have pc games like the new LOTR game coming out, and it should have, but don't quote me, Mechwarrior Online, Mech Commander 2 or 3, Mech Warrior 5 Mercs, the last two 90% sure since Phil is already talking about them and they will be out after the cross game thingy is put in full effect. HALO WARS 2 for sure, the new human fire faction is out right now. Best way to describe Fire Warthogs is "Bacon" I came up with that term, you must pay me 10 American bucks anytime you use it and your talking about Flamethrower Warhogs.

I'm still playing the 360. Got Borderlands 2 for free and Resident Evil HD half price. That's me sorted for the foreseeable.

Alright, so in the few days I've had my Xbox I've managed to burn through 6 batteries in my controller.... Granted, I have been playing for roughly 8-10 hours these last few days, but surely 6 batteries is quite a lot to be going through? Do any of you guys have this problem?

Also, I don't know if it is my wifi or what, but in the few days I've had my Xbox I've only managed to download Forza Horizon 3 (roughly a day and a half), Minecraft (6-8 hours) and Battlefront (2-3 days) and it is currently working on all the DLC for Battlefront. The DLC is going WAY faster though and should probably only take about an hour to finish all of it. I really don't understand why all these games have to download though, as I still can't play most of them without the disk in anyway.

There is an option to make it not download the game, but I prefer it do so, the problem with disc drives are that they are full of moving parts and they will ware out faster than say, classic segas, nes, snes, n64. Unless of course you just download digital games on the xbox, or pc. They will probably last longer since your not rubbing connections together constantly and exposing it to containment.

Yeah it will take awhile to download things considering newer games can be like around 20-30 gigs, though its usually 12.

Where do you find the option not to download the games?

you should just be able to pause the download in the "queue" menu in "my games and apps"

As for download times, developers don't seem to want to compress any of their files these days like they would to package them onto a disc, so the file sizes are always gigantic.

as for the battery life. I've never had that much of a problem, when mine tells me that my battery is running low, i normally have a few more hours left of battery power. That being said investing in a rechargeable battery pack is a great idea, they charge via a usb cable.

Halo Master Chief collection if you wanna play great halo titles, Comes with Halo 1-4, and pay 5 dollars extra and you get the great ODST campaign, then get Reach Digital version from the 360 cause its backwards compatible.

Advice though, skip Halo 5, its utter crap. Micro Transactions and horrible gameplay, storyline, made spartans, even the chief completly generic now because there really is no difference difference of power it feels like between the spartan and marine. Both die pretty easily, specially on legendary, and all the weapons are more or less worthless because of how they wanted to create the new pay to win firefight mode. even though its more like pay and prey you get what you need to win, but you will still lose anyway. Especially on Mythic.

fallout 4 and skyrim both have mod support and both are great games. I'll second the witcher 3; it's a fantastic game.

If you liked games like the Commandos series or Desperados you'll love Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun
