What's the Fury of Alderaan?

By fist, in Star Wars: Age of Rebellion RPG

In the adventure Onslaught at Arda, there is mention of the rebel "cruiser" the Fury of Alderaan, but no specifics about what ship type it is. It is alludes to it being a YT-2400, but hard to see how that would be a cruiser. Any help with this would be appreciated.

If nobody has figured out an official description for the Fury of Alderaan, how about a best guess or what you and your group used it as. Thanks

Sounds like a great name for an Alderaanian war frigate rescued from a salvage yard or recovered from an "unreachable" location at an old battlefield (like inside a gas giant or something.)

My opinion is that it would be a newly named ship. Owned by an Alderanian survivor. Alderaan was a peaceful planet and probably wouldnt follow an aggressive naming theme for their vessels pre planetary destruction.

Sounds like an Alderaan Cruiser aka CR90, maybe something more war heavy like the CR92a Assassin class. or even something non-corrillian like the Pelta-class frigate. I would most likely just go with an CR90.

CR90 is the safest bet here. It's the classic Alderaanian ship.

None of those are actually cruisers though. The CR-90 is referred to as a Alderaanian cruiser only in one or two sources and none of those are FFG material AFAIK.

II could be a Thranta War Cruiser. That's the only Alderaanian native Imperial era cruiser class I can recall. Or it could be pretty much any cruiser class used by the rebellion with a primarily Alderaanian crew.

FFG lists corvettes, frigates and even dreadnoughts all as different types of cruisers. So yeah all of my options can be called cruisers. From the Gozanti-class, Alderaan Cruiser to the a command cruiser like the phoenix home, which is a rather large pelta class frigate.

lots of great options, thanks everyone! Probably going to settle on something like the pelta class frigate or may an IR-3F Frigate (with added hyperdrive). Has the Pelta been stated in any FFG books?

It sounds like a bar drink to me.

It should be a MC75 cruiser. We know they exist because it was the Rebel command ship at Scarif in Rogue One. It's highly doubtful the Rebels only had one of them, and the Arda adventure takes place long enough after Yavin that the Mon Calamari could have built at least one more even if there had been only one in existence. Arda was a large and important enough base that the Rebel support fleet for the base can reasonably have a real cruiser, rather than just a frigate called a "cruiser".

I ship made of the inner core metals of Alderaan, forged from the bones of the planet, called The Heart of Alderaan....definitely got a new npc ship for plot purposes.

I like the idea of the survivors of Alderaan building a space station out of materials salvaged from the Death Star. A nice bit of karma revenge there.

Yeah, Alderaan is a great well for cool story ideas. I've mentioned before on this forum about my spy network "The Orphans of Alderaan", that started out as a social group for those who were offworld when the planet blew up, and how they morphed into an anti-Empire spy network and espionage/sabotage organization, that worked alongside the Rebellion. They made for a great set piece in one of my campaigns.
