So, I post from my phone more often than not, which means in the old forum I didn't have access to bold/italic/underline and a bunch of other QoL features, so I kind of got used to working in the "naked" editor and just manually using the formatting tags like [ i ] and [ quote ]. It actually made quotes, particularly, much easier to work with, and more robust in that you can change the name of the and some other stuff like that.
I'm finding that a lot of the tags work similarly here despite the lack of a similar "formatless" editor view. Unfortunately, the loss of that editor view means I can't use the method of learning new stuff that I used to (quote a text block where somebody else did it and then switch views to see the tags). So I thought I'd start a thread to share this knowledge since I don't see any kind of documentation for its use anywhere.
I've inserted spaces into the tags because I don't know the escape character yet...
Tags I've found so far that work:
[ i ] and [ / i ]: italics
[ b ] and [ / b ]: bold
[ u ] and [ / u ]: underline
[ s ] and [ / s ]: strikeout
[ quote name="Quote name here" ] and [ / quote]:
Quote name here said:Make a quote
[ spoiler ] and [ / spoiler ]
Make a spoiler
[ code ] and [ / code]
make a code block
Also, @username should pull a dropdown to let you link the user referenced. I bet there's a tag for that too, but I haven't found it yet.
Clicking and holding on the title for a thread you started--either from the main forum or inside your thread--will let you change the thread title. I don't know how to do this on mobile yet.
Anybody have anything else to add?
