In case you haven't heard, this week's Star Wars Rebels features a new Imperial Ship! (It's shown very early so I don't think that it's particularly spoiler-ish though.
Did a video on it with some screenshots and speculation.

It does look a bit like a Gozanti wearing a Hat.
It looks like a Gozanti wearing Mickey Ears! OMG!
Mickeyzanti....![]()
Not really flotilla worthy imo.
It's a gozanti with slicer tools!
he's right. Rebels should use the Raider corvette.
Good that the Imperials finally get a flotilla candidate. Been racking my head trying to come up with an Imperial flotilla idea, because we all know the rebels WILL get the Broha'tok eventually ![]()

Uhh... the Gozanti Cruiser is right there.
I guess this could be a single ship version of the Gozanti expansion... otherwise really, it's another gozanti. Maybe it's a special version that has two fleet support slots instead of one, but this is about as different as the Republic Arquitens is from the Imperial one. *shrug*
If they recanonized something interesting like the Strike Cruiser or used one of Fractal's things, yeah then that's something. But this is a case of just creating an antenna, copy-pasting some engines, and re-using the Gozanti asset already to make something interesting. GZs are already good support ships, what more do they need?
Yes, the Gozanti is a fine support/cheap light carrier option for the Imperial side. But if you could add another flotilla to the Imperial side, your choices are rather limited at the moment. Perhaps a boarding ship like the Stormtrooper Transport or ATR-6. Maybe a Gamma-Class Assault Shuttle. But there's not a lot of canon choices at the moment. Another choice is a good thing in my opinion, and Rebels (for better or worse) seems to be the most popular show to draw designs from currently.
I'd rather see a Vigil-class corvette, as it looks a little nicer than the Gozanti hull. But whatever, maybe this is their visual take on that concept.

An excellent design, Nostromoid, but at 255 meters the Vigil would be a lil big for flotillas. I almost wish they'd given us this one instead of the Raider.
This would be a terrible idea for a flotilla. It's a slightly modified Gozanti, that's it. I'd rather have a completely new ship for a flotilla if and when that comes out. Before hand though, I'd rather have a couple more medium bases and perhaps see what they do with a large base, before looking at what they can do different with a flotilla.
It has twice as many engines. Could be far more maneuverable. I also imagine it might be something without an anti-ship armament and instead it provides some sort of debuff for enemy ships - maybe some new upgrades that synergize extremely well with slicer tools - Maybe some new titles that allow you to manipulate an enemy ship's speed or command tokens.
And it might actually be larger than the regular gozanti - considering it has twice as many engines it could be twice the volume as well.
Sounds more like a fleet support upgrade or something rather than a whole new ship to be honest.

Yeah maybe its a single ship flotilla? Is that even possible as a flotilla implies plural.
By definition a single ship cannot be a flotilla. Well unless it's Voltron. Voltron is a flotilla. Especially the car version.
Would we see the raider in rebels at all? I thought it was post new hope.....
Id love more flotillas though.
I don't know if it is completely post-ANH, but even if it is, we don't have confirmation that Rebels series finale will be Rogue One. Naturally the show is probably going to have to resolve the outcome of that battle, which would then put it past the start of ANH. It would then likely show you the destruction of the Death Star from the Ghost Crew's perspective, and likely end up slightly after ANH.
I even suspect that it will end up taking the Ghost crew forward, closer to ESB. I've only read SOME of the comics, but I think it's possible that Hera and company help establish Echo base. They could even include Rex and possibly tie it back to the Clone Wars, naming that base after Echo... though I think that part might be a BIT of a stretch. Who knows though.
See, I just figured they were all dead by Rogue 1 simply because Skywalker being jedi-material was such a big deal. Not that it wouldnt be important, but... like hes the only one big deal.

I heard Lucas is planning another Special Edition to both trilogies. Plans are to add the Ghost to Hoth and Endor and Kanan to AotC and RotS. Makes perfect sense.
(Aaaand I am being completely absurd. )
The new Gozanti reminded me of our own AWACS plane. Kind of figured that was the direction they were going. Glad I wasn't too far off.

Luke is still the last hope because as the son of Vader, only he may have the power to defeat Vader. Ezra's an okay Jedi, but the ghost crew already faced Vader and lost.
Chopper and the ghost are visible within Rogue One, in the very least into the battle of Scarif. They'll be with us up unto A New Hope, and possibly beyond. We'll see who survives that finale though.
I think they will take Rebels all the way though the original trilogy all the way to Endor. It would be the perfect way to flesh out the original trilogy with new canon material, make a ton of money from merchandising, and not have to rely on CGI Leia any more.
That's a Gozanti with a a big Comms Net attached to it.
I don't remember seeing a lot of people wearing corrective lenses in Star Wars before.
Was this also something new in Star Wars?
