How does obstruction work?

Really dumb question but how does obstruction work?

How would it work on Ciena Ree?

Here too huh? :)

The attacker removes a die from his attack pool

If the LOS line is traced and it crosses a Ship that is not the Target, an Obstacle Token, or if the attack is declared "obstructed" by a rule - then the attack is obstructed and there is -1 die lost from the attack pool, chosen after you pick up the dice, and before you roll them.

An attack is either obstructed (-1 die) or not. Its a Yes/No - No matter how many of the triggering events occur.

So if you were shooting Ciena Ree, through a Ship, through 2 asteroids... There would only be -1 die lost, as the attack is obstructed. (By Ciena Ree's rule, by the Ship, and by each asteroid)...

And note the attack steps:

1. form attack pool, here the -1 die from obstruction applies. Also cards like enhanced armament apply here since they modify battery armament. Rolle those dice now.

2. Attack effects. Adding dice happens here, e.g. ackbar or defiance or CF dial.

So if in step 1 you had no dice, the attack stops. Any cards like ackbar that only "add" dice cannot change that.

Thank you all so very much! :)
