Rebel Aces Vs. 7 YT-2400s in a Cracken List

By The Sunkist Kid, in Star Wars: Armada Fleet Builds

Hi Everyone,

I am a relatively new player and I would really appreciate some squadron advice from the community. I absolutely love TRC Corvettes and am planning on running the list below. Having said that, I don't plan on using too many squadron commands so naturally I thought 7 YT-2400s would be fantastic. I still do think it would be great but have also come up with the following combination:

2 YT-2400s ( 32 points)
1 Jan Ors ( 19 points)
1 Hera Syndulla ( 28 points)
1 Shara Bey ( 17 points)
1 Wedge Antilles ( 19 points)

Basically, the YT-2400s and Hera would take care of themselves. Hera would activate both Shara and Wedge. Wedge would provide a little bit more protection for Hera or Jan, and Jan would follow up providing intel and giving out tokens.

I guess my question is... what would you take?

Any advice would be fantastic thank you!

7 yts for me, without even thinking too much about the dice/damage tradeoff.

Small base spam chokes the board, and gives you as the user a lot of mental threads to keep tied up in your brain. It's a lot of coordination and lots of decisions. 7 YT's lets you focus on THOSE decisions without having to also keep in mind a squadron game on top of it.

The aces you have a probably more efficient, but neither one is designed to contribute anything to the ship fight, which is where the battle is going to be won for the MSU. YT's win in my book because they free up brain space to make sure my ships are doing what they are supposed to be doing- killing ships.

7 YTs

Thanks for the advice - I really appreciate it!

stick to rogues.. Hera, Han, Dash, Corran can all be mixed in as well.. Hera's ability to pass rogue sounded way cooler than it actually works in practice tho.. only non rogue I'd consider is maybe a vcx for strategic or Jan for brace passing/intel

As the others said keep it simple and stick with rogues, but I would not go with your seven YTs because:

1) Odd numbers are less cost effective in regards to deployments ( only ever go odd numbers of fighters for a specific reason.

2) Rebs have some great rogue aces:

a) Han, seven hull and brace is great but being able to double tap ( last first) can really swing the fighter fight. He also has better fighter and anti ship dice that a YT.

B) Ketsu, this fighter is bonkers good for a rogue ball which is supporting a MSU list, gums up the enemy bomber ball with no way to ameliorate with Intel, has a scatter+ brace on four hull and to top it all off the 2 blue bomber dice makes this one ship wonder a wounded ship killer who is just about immune to returning flack.

C) Horn, double brace and five hull is harder than a YT, you can use him to scare, threaten Intel ships.

you can get Han,ketsu, horn and 3 YTs for 118 points, it's a better list for interdicting bomber balls and has more anti ship grunt and has som good defence tokens to help keep it ticking......
