Psuedo-Regen TLTs

By DeathToJarJar, in X-Wing Squad Lists

Here's the idea:

Spice Runner (16) x4

  • TLT (6)
  • Pulsed Ray Shield (2)
  • BMSTs (1)

Is this any good? The HWKs don't really care about ion tokens from the ray shield and the BMSTs are there to punish any aces that try to get into the range-1 bubble. Just durdle across the board, healing damage and shooting anything that gets in range.

I suppose it is worth a try but you become very predictable, and you might lose a hwk to heavy fire.

Plus you have a crappy dial to boot. The unhinged Ywing is just better in my opinion.

If you want to run 4 hwks then consider something like this:

You can steal tokens and shoot on a target with 4x2 shots before it has a chance to shoot.

Feedback protects you against non-ptl aces as well

Palob Godalhi (20)
Trick Shot (0)
Twin Laser Turret (6)

Torkil Mux (19)
Twin Laser Turret (6)

Spice Runner (16)
Twin Laser Turret (6)
Intelligence Agent (1)
Feedback Array (2)

Spice Runner (16)
Twin Laser Turret (6)
Feedback Array (2)

Total: 100

I think the idea is to try the pulsed ray shield.

Also idk if i would take the Feedback array over the PRS plus Slicer tools.

To answer your question...no. PRS is not going to do a whole lot for the fragile HWK (the same way Gonk is a dreadful idea for them) other than let your opponent know where your Range 1 bubble is going to be next round, and having every ship at PS1 means you can be PS-sniped by just about anything. Couple that with the fact that four TLT's is about the dullest list (both to play, and to play against) possible in the game and that the HWK is so much poorer a carrier for said turret than a Y-Wing (if your intent is to have four of them) that it will leave this list with nothing but novelty value.

If you really want to fly HWKs, the three named pilots together can make a surprisingly effective combination - I forget the exact details of the list but Predator is involved.
