I think arc caster is the weak link here. Hard to trigger if you can only use at range 1. Might prefer flechette cannon.

Pulsed Ray Shield is a better card in my opinion. Your card is an action whereas PRS just happens during the end phase. You card is also an EPT which limits it just to pilots that have EPTs. I like the single shield restriction of PRS, it keeps the regen from getting out of hand. An ARC-170 could take that EPT, Nein Numb crew, and R2-D2 and regen two shields every round as long as they got an action.

Inaldra is very fine. Imagine you have to defend 3 hits and roll 3 blanks. Spend shield to reroll all 3 dice again. The chance is good that you get at least the cost of your shield back.

PS: Quinn with Advanced Homing Missiles can be very good against lot of ships like Regen Poe/Miranda/ARC and Han/Rey

Granted: the Y-Wing has 8 health, vs the Defender's 6. And Kavil at PS9 is a heck of an arc dodger, while the PS1 Delta will have trouble with range control. However: Kavil's 4 dice at a time can only push 1 damage each. Whereas the Delta might actually take out a Y-Wing in a single round.

I'm not saying the Arc Caster on a TIE/D would be OP, but I'm glad FFG decided not to risk it.

i see what you are saying, but I feel comparing these two ships 1x1 like this doesn't paint a complete enough picture. Both whole squads needs to be considered as both ships would need back up in some form of fashion to truly shine.

It is probably the easier path to not let the TIE/D's get the Arc cannon, but considering how glass cannon it can be at times (and the arc cannon would only draw more agro) I think the benefits and risks could have balanced out.

But that's speculation. In the end, the restriction is there and we don't even know how well it'll do in practice with any ship, so best to leave the question alone.

Off the top of my head might be the Starwind or ILH-KK Citadel. That's only because I got the Edge of the Empire book recently. The Starwind might be out pending on if they only used some of the more famous versions, which were all based on smugglers.

That's... Quite the stretch to think that FFG will make these ships, and that they will make them with one shield, and that they will also be too strong with this upgrade to force them to errata this card.

Think the safer route is to make sure all 1 shield ships are fine with this equipped, large or small. Or, if that's not possible, to just not have a 1 shield large base.

They replace the destroyed left prong with a "lightning gun" that looks very much (almost exactly) like the arc caster on the card art.

Scum are just lucky that Han Solo decided to share (or sell) the technology to them.

Was hoping there would be some upgrade to help the firespray, doesn't appear to be the case unfortunately.

Maybe one of these days we'll have a firespray aces/veterans pack. Hopefully with Jango Fett alternate paint scheme!

i feel like thats a mistake, i mean it's only a 2 point card

...why would it tell you to cancel results? It's Range 1 only, requires a turn of not firing (Weapons Disabled) before it can be used again, and hits yourself with the splash damage probably more often than not.

It's a 2 point card with massive downsides. On anything but the scyk, it gives no extra attack dice, and is basically just 2 points to get an extra damage on someone else, which might end up being yourself. On the scyk, its 1 extra die + the same risk/reward of an extra damage, and you basically cripple your damage at other ranges

Being only useable on the scyk is not a massive downside, it's a targeted fix. Is royal guard title a massive downside because it only fits on interceptors?

They used their title prematurely with the scyk so they used a different slot to fix it. Is situational 1 extra attack die and splash damage at range 1 such a terrible 2 point investment when you're already buying a 2 point hull upgrade?

It's not a generally useful canon, and it wasn't meant to be. Try to keep a little perspective on its purpose.
