When a neutral unit's special ability is activated in a duel with a hero (as it would be during a duel quest), does the fact that heroes are not units apply to the neutral unit's special ability text? I assume it would, and that the implications of this fact were not lost on the designers. Since this ruling results in half of the neutral units' special abilities not being applicable (3 of the 6), I thought it might be helpful to have this spelled out more clearly, however. Also, for anyone who has played the game, I was curious as to whether the neutral units whose special abilities do not apply to heroes come up very often in quests. If they do, I suppose the fact that they are made comparatively weaker than neutral units whose special abilities do apply (since all special icons results will count as miss results) was intended in the design.
duel quests (neutral units special abilities)
My copy just arrived today. I've checked the Quest cards, and unless I missed something on my first glance through the deck, it looks like there are only two dual quests available. Both of which are against neutral units whose special is still applicable to heroes, so it looks like I've got my answer.
