Ordnance Experts in Large/Small Ships

As always thinking in new ways to expand the game and breaking the rules.

Ordnance Experts Team. Huge only. Once per round when firing torps or misiles within R3 one blank to hit. No Energy requeriments. Change "Team" to "Crewmember x2". Not cheap and I think not OP.

I enjoy the idea of this techs aboard a Tie Shuttle (yes I know 4 pts limit, breaking the rules...). A couple of techs in a cramped space with many screens, buttons and joysticks. This Shuttle, Rhymer and some Bombers. Better in Epic than in a 100 pts game. A "Weapons Director" ship to enhance LRS bombers.

I would like to know your opinion.

Interesting, to be sure, but it would need playtesting.

This sounds really interesting, if Team's could use 2 Crew Slot on any ship instead... Let's see how the other Teams would fare...

Sensor Team - Target Lock 1-5... Isn't there already an upgrade that fully removes Target Lock Range?
Gunnery Team - Spend Energy to change Blank to Hit... Maybe change it to "Gain a Stress"... Seems balanced enough for 4 points and 2 Crew Slots
Engineering Team - When you reveal Straight 1, gain Energy... Even if we change it to "Remove Stress"... It still seems pretty garbage

I think that the only Team playable outside Epic Ships could be Sensors Team. Allies at R1 could obtain TL R1-5. The others...not.

I give ordnance all the love I can. This idea needs a lot of testing. We will see.

Countermeasures 1 pt cheaper and available to Small or Large ships playtested ok. Other ideas were complete failures. Time will say.

I would make this a new kind of crew called a Commander. And other Commander would have similar "battlefield effects," allowing for list synergy.

Just like "Squadrons" would allow for list synergy in a monoclonal crop of starfighters.

a 5 point weaker version of Guidence ship is not worth it. That seems to be the case for most of the huge ship upgrades perform less than upgrades for smaller ships that do similar effects.

Drop the LRS, put in GC.

Choose between LRS and GC is not easy. Launching that Impact Missiles round 2 TL + Focus. One blank to Hit. After this not soo good but it hurts. If you can use Ordnance Experts twice in a game Ok. If 3+ times good investment.

I know this is not a superb option. But well suited to Epic or Double Epic scenarios. The idea of two Techs working in a small space with no life support and no shiels, focused on the tiny screens and multicolored buttons in front of them flying in a no shield ship is quite funny to me. Remind me that Electronic Warfare crewmembers flying over the Nam...
