Playlists to Paint to for Runewars

If you are have an Amazon Prime membership and listen to Amazon Music, try searching for "Epic Score." It's a series of dozens of soundtracks of generic music that sounds like it comes from a movie trailer. I listen to it when playing BattleLore and listened to it when I was a GM for Dungeons & Dragons. Some of the music is better than others, but all of it blends into the background to give you more of a cinematic feeling to your games.

I used to do music, but now I usually set up a TV show on Netflix or Hulu and have that going in the background. Comedies are a particularly good choice. Something light so you don't need to be very engaged.

Just have Netflix on in the background.

I go with binge TV programming I haven't watched before but can just listen to or going back through old series I'd never finished or wanted to view again. I'm on the last season of Star Trek TNG right now. That's a 'talky' show which makes great background sound. And the occasional 'ooh, something to watch'. I forgot Famke Jansen was on it...mmmm Famke....

I'm wrapping up Parks & Rec right now.

Gah! You beat me to it, bro. Anyway, there are a TON of Epic Score albums on Amazon, but my three favorites are Vengeance , Dawn of Freedom , and Judgement Day .

One perk is that each song on each album has a Vocal and Without Vocals track, so you can listen to whichever you prefer. The tracks are on the short side, and some of them scream, "I was written for a movie trailer!" but I love them anyway.

Audio books are my answer.

My painting playlist is NPR Baby!

Or more specifically WBEZ Chicago Public Radio.
