Happy Friday peeps

By Cubanboy, in Star Wars: Armada

This weeks question is,

In ten years do you still see yourself playing?

Have a great weekend and be the change you want to see from this world.

Also the time change is this weekend for the US. We spring forward one hour.

Kill me.

Daylight savings is seriously the worst . It's just about the biggest draw for me to move back to Arizona: no DST.

I see myself playing this game in 10 years because, you know, Star Wars. I mostly play at home, so as long as my son keeps playing with me I'll be playing.

Sounds like a good day for staying home, eating chili, and not playing Highway Bumper Cars.

I hope to be playing this game for a very long time. This was the first miniatures game I've ever played and I am totally hooked. I got into x-wing also but armada seems to be more my style. I hope to play these games once a week for the rest of my life.

But then you live in Arizona. I'll take DST.

Truth

And a happy friday to you too Cubanboy, and to the rest of the usual suspects :D

As long as i can convince people to play, i'll be an armada junkie!

Happy Friday!

Will I still be playing? That really depends on how the game expands going forward. I'll likely have some ships still at the very least.

Happy Friday!

I have to also say that the forecast locally went from nearly 60 to 30s today with snow, and tomorrow not going above freezing. Goofy! Actually looks like they may cancel the St Patrick's Day parade locally.

Happy Friday!

The only game I have ever played that lasted 10 years is 40k, and it is utterly unrecognisable now to how it was back then, I don't even think it's the same game at all.

I did break out the Mechwarrior: Dark Age figures for a nostalgia-battle about a year ago though. That game has aged terribly, it has an awkward and clunky ruleset and the balance between different units, factions, types of unit etc is atrocious compared to FFG games.

Happy Friday!

I'm not sure about the lifespan of most Miniatures games, as this is my first. I will say that I'm thoroughly hooked though! Even looking at getting into others now.

I'll still own everything, but my gaming hinges on if I have time and people to play with. Still hope to play even if it's a part of the "Dead Games" weekend our LGS does.

enjoy that time with the boy. It goes by all too quickly, speaking from what was his perspective. In 10 years time I know I will still love star wars, it has been a fixture for most of my life. I will hopefully be a captain in the U.S. Army. 5 years at west point then 5 years to make captain. If time permits and mcworrell still plays, Captain Huntsinger will be playing too.

Preppie?

To answer your question

I am going to steel Tom Brady's quote

"Ill retire when I suck!"

I have very few games that I'm still playing after 10 years (D&D, Call of Cthulhu, SFB, Robo Rally).

I'm not sure if Armada has that kind of longevity. But I'll play it as long as my gaming group wants to play!

USAFA 2012. Nobody but preppies and Mormons take more than four years. Good luck!

Happy Friday!

I most certainly hope I'll still be playing, even if it's just by my self. . . .

I'll probably end up like my father did, with all these amazing games in my closet hoping that someday one of my children will explore the closet, pull one out, and get hooked. . .
