Ibitsam?

even though it's still expensive and not competitive, this Ibitsam build worked pretty well for me the other day.

never bothers to take actions, but can do whatever manoeuvre he likes and still has re-rolls out the exhaust port.

Might as well take Collision Detector to ignore crits from Debris.

Forgot that one, we counted him as having it but didn't have the card, my opponent threw him into debris on the first round of combat because he forgot about Hera and collision detector.

i still lost though

Best DEFENSIVE Sam build in theory, min/max, game mech, bonus, stack, synergy, rerolls, etc, depending if have points, other ships:

SAM 28 Base, 39 Total

Lando 3

PTL 3

Sensor Jammer 4

E2 1

Yes he is expensive at 39, and yes at first glance might think a vulnerable 39. Lets analyze and see.

DEFENSE: At range 3, Sam can produce 6 evade. And if another ship has Jan Ors, a Lando focus can be turned into a evade. The green dice can be rerolled by Sam. If Lando blanks, can PTL to get at least a focus, if dont want to risk a 2nd blank in a row by Lando. And Sensor Jammer can help.

Elusiveness in place of PTL, tho cheaper, synergizing with Jammer to cause foe to burn thru focus, hits, can only be used 1 time, attack, per round, and may end up attacking before get the stress from Elusive to use Sam reroll on offensive attacks.

So because of that, PTL is better then Elusiveness, Wired, Rage, WHEN, IF combined with LANDO, to produce more EVADE. And EVADE IS BETTER then Elusive, Wired, Rage.

OFFENSE: PTL allows using both Lando, getting a TL, Evade, Focus, Jammer, Sam rerolling, on both offense defense.

Depending on luck, skill, etc, once attacked, ganged up on, Sam can last about 3,3.5,4,4.5,5, turns before destroyed.

And in that time Sam and 2 other ships, can easily destroy 1,2,1.5 ships, that biggest threat.
