Just a few questions ... For a start :)

By player600456, in Battlelore

Greetings!

I am new here and I would need some info about couple of things.

First of all: How come when I put all of my figures together (basic Battlelore game without expansions) I have two goblin infantry figures that are extra - they don't belong into any of the units ( I sort units like this: Infantry 4 figures in a unit, and Cavalry 3 figures in a unit. I hope that is the right way to sort them). I doubt I lost 2 goblin figures (to make a 4 figure unit) because I just took them form the box to my table.
Second: The battlelore card. When I order my units everything I want, move fight, do I have to take all of my Command cards and put them under the card picking pile and take equal number of new ones?
Third: Mists of Terror card. "Check for panic losses on each flag rolled against them" Does this mean that the attacked unit looses a figure on each flag rolled against it?

Thank you for your help. I hope for clear and direct answers.

1) Each box has some extra units since it would cost more (per Dow..gather the same for FFG...Days of Wonder (DoW) was the original maker of the game before FFG bought the game from them) to put the exact count units in each box. That is why.

2) Battlelore card - I think you are misinterpreting the card. For the # of cards you have, you roll a like # of dice and based on the dice roll is what you can order on that turn. You do NOT put your other cards in the discard pile..only the Battlelore card. Also, at the end of the turn, don't forget to reshuffle BOTH piles (last line on the card I do believe).

3) Mist of Terror - for each flag rolled, the unit needs to move back the appropriate # of squares. And for EACH square moved back, they need to check for panic loss (roll a die for each square), just like the goblin units do when they retreat.

Hope that helps

Hey, thanks for the answer. Still, there is something that isn't clear quite yet. Battlelore card. It's ok, I told you, I rolled the dice, issued orders and it is the end of my turn. For example I have 6 command cards and one of them is Battlelore. Now, I finished the turn and what do I do with Battlelore in my hand and other 5 cards in my "inventory"?

You are playing a card from your hand. So BatteLore is on the table and you roll the 6 dice (for having 6 total command cards). Once you are done with the turn, BattleLore goes to the top of the discard pile, like any other "used" card. But per its further instructions, you then reshuffle the Command deck and discards together and form a new Command deck. Likewise, do the same with the Lore cards. The cards in your hand (the other 5) and the cards in your opponent's hand remain where they are. You then draw back to 6 as normal.

Funny, I have exactly 2 extra goblin units as well, I guess it's normal...

Thank you kind people. You helped me alot. I'm just entering the world of Battlelore so I got plenty of questions. Now I know where to ask. Thanks again.

One more thing: When I play a Lore card along side of my Command card which one should be resolved first?

The rules state that the Lore card is played before the command card, unless mentionned otherwise on the card

Thanks. I love quick, direct answers :)

For the battlelore card you just shuffle the discard piles back into the draw piles.

For mists of terror, for each flag rolled a frightened unit must retreat 2 spaces per flag rolled. For each space retreated ( 2 spaces per flag) you roll that amount of dice and if any banner colors of the enemy unit comes up, remove that amount of enemy pieces.

I also have extra pieces in my set.
