Pronounciation

By FatherTurin, in Star Wars: Armada

Oh news is coming very soon. But we ain't gonna like it.

Know something the rest of us don't, DiabloAzul?

Not really. But the deluge of rules emails almost certainly means the new FAQ update has been delivered by the team and will be published in the very near future.

And given the way the rulings are going, I expect it's going to lead to even more heated debate.

Ahh. Good to know. I'd better get my torch and pitchfork store up and running :D

I'll need at least 2 of everything.

It's spelled Arquitens - but it's pronounced "Throat Warbler Mangrove"

To be honest the thought of pronouncing it quit instead kit have never crossed my mind before reading this thread.

In any case the more important one I'm worried about is Tagge.

Tag

Tag-e

Tag-ee

Taj

Taj-e

Taj-ee

It being a person's name, it just depend on how he pronounces it.

A quick google suggests his first name is Cassio, which is italian.

Does that make it Taj-e?

None of those. It's Tah-g. It looks Germanic.

I pronounce it are-quit-tenz

I need to find a way to get them up to 10 dice so I can just call them "arcing-tens" instead.

That sounds about right.

In proper French, it would be pronounced Ar-Ki-Tan. Now, someone mentioned Québécois. Don't go there, we can butcher the language in every way possible. So for that, who knows.

Don't worry, in Québec, we pronounced it the same way as in France '' Ar-Ki-Tan'' ;)

Our french is the same (Québec-France), we only have a different accent and maybe some different expressions. But the grammar is the same as for the pronounciation :)

But yes... FFG... We really need something about our favorite game.

Well, it depends on what words. And how serious the accent is. I live in Ottawa but my mom's family lives in the Montreal area. Yeah, Arquitens would probably sound the same, with extra rolling of the r, but others won't.

Always pronounced it Arki-tenz.

It always drives me nuts when people don't know the difference between "canon" and "cannon" :P

When I fire a cannon, I always make sure it's canon.
