Looking for thoughts on triple defender list after the recent FAQ. I was thinking the following:

Ryad - X7, PTL and Twin Ion

Vessery - X7, Wired, Twin Ion

Delta - Twin Ion

I think twin ion is pretty important on defenders now, so they can remove stress more easily if they acquire it. The fear of stress is what also motivated me to put wired on Vessery. Although, I think we could instead put adaptability on him do reduce his pilot skill and help prevent being blocked.

Is this a reasonable direction to go with competitive defenders, or is the tie/D title equally as potent as the X7 title at this point and worth considering?

It is an auto-include now - consider it a further 1pt+slot tax for the ship. Wired, though, is a mistake - if you're stressed enough to need it, you're probably toast anyway.

Vessery and Ryad are the viable pilots, so keeping both of those is probably fine, but drop the Delta for something else and give Vessery VI to ensure he can get his shots and not cost too much.

TIE/D is not viable, and weakening the other title hasn't changed that.
