New sculpted Talisman miniature

By Mr. Brogger, in Talisman

That's a good tute Mr B, but you might also want to have a look at the old series of the Talisman Herald at my site for some information.

http://www.talismanisland.com/herald.htm

Issue #1 had a feature written by Jeff Herskowitz detailing how he made resin copies of some decorative pieces for his Talisman set.

The dwarf has got some more clothes on.

Just for some information about these sculps. They are made in a 40 mm scale. The original is 30 mm.

cheers

Amazing ! aplauso.gif

He comes very close to the ffg figure now.

I like the cape on his back gran_risa.gif

Hi all,

Just need to know something before I continue to sculp the rest Talisman miniatures.

Would you better like the minis if they where made in 30 mm scale (as the original minis) instead of 40 mm (as those two I already made) ? ? ?

cheers

I don't think it matters really. 40mm is probably good as anything as it will not be lost on the huge board!

I would choose for the size of the original minis (30mm happy.gif Then they have all the same sizes..

That was also one of the thoughts I had. Then you don't need all the 30 mm or all the 40 mm. People can chose to keep or change minis of the different creators and still use them together. But then I have to sculp the warrior and dwarf again and there might be less details serio.gif hmm.

You don't have to make it again..( after all, it are your miniatureshappy.gif

But i would like it, if all characters have the same size.gran_risa.gif

But if it will decrease the details from the figure, maybe that 40 mm will be better..preocupado.gif

The dwarf is just finished and a new 40 mm miniature is on the working board happy.gif

Hope you like the dwarf - all comments are welcome.

Any special wishes for the next character to see (dark cultist or someone else) ?

Very impressive once again!

How about a magic user? Sorceress maybe?

Hey, very nice miniature. I like details in the head area! The worriors armor under his chin is much better than in the original one.

The Dwarf is much more heroic. But his weapon looks not "weapon like" maybe you can look at some weapons like this...

Also with your style you have changed the climate of the figures. Now your figures look more fantasy like and have no "humor" inside...

cheers

not "weapon like"

with this mean the form of the axe. It looks cool but maybe in real life a person who have to fight with this kind of weapon would have some problems.

I want to see the Dark Cultist.. gran_risa.gif

I could have changed the form of the axe to make it more realistic, but just did it like the axe from the dwarf picture in Talisman. And who knows how such an axe would work in the hand of a strong fantasy dwarf in battle ? gui%C3%B1o.gif

Thanks,

I agree with you that I have changed the stile from the original miniatures who have a cartoonish/humor look, wich I actually like. But there is no point to sculp new minis with the exact same stile. My goal is to make an alternative stile of Talisman miniatures. And at the moment I must say it is just a practice thing for me. There is a lot of sculpers out there who are better then me, so I am still learning and maybe (hopefully) one day I can become one of the best sculpers on the market.

cheers

For those who like miniatures, check out the site where the professionels are:

www.coolminiornot.com/

Whenever I see the miniatures in there I get like sorpresa.gif Wow, I still have a long way to go.

Hope some of you guys check it out. It is realy cool happy.gif

Take a look at these for an example.

Oh my! That's just daunting to consider the amount of skill AND time needed for such detail.

The Warrior that Mr brogger made, is good enough for me.

They don't have to be so detailed as the Miniatures(statue's?) that the professionals made.

oh boy, I would definetely buy your sculpted minis.

If you will ever consider to sell them (when you'll find the method to replicate the greens), count me in as a buyer.

Here is my first 30 mm miniature under progres happy.gif Maybe you can see who it becomes ?

Cheers
