FOAM CORE FIX. Mini storage and display.

By Bibbles, in Mansions of Madness

I put together a quick Foam Core tray to make my MOM 2nd ed easier to put away and take out. The back two layers are stepped like a ziggurat adding strength and height, elevating the dark gods over their lowly servants.... Moooooohahahahahaaaaa! Still gotta paint and decorate it but the basics are there.

That's a very impressive facelift for the mini bases! :)

Its a few different strategies. One I used was color copying tiles from the game and gluing the paper down. I've since moved into using texture rollers and green stuff.

There is also sand and glue. Really made them pop. Not done yet but its easily playable :)

Really impressive bases, I was planning on going the same route... but after some thinking I'll just switch mine out for clear round ones that are much smaller.

They simply take up waaaay to much space, I mean, what you got there is the same size as my kitchen table! :o

Still, really lovely work on the figures! :) And super cool with a dedicated storage unit like that (love the candles, great touch!).

But... do you store it like that, or do you prepare it before games for ease of finding everything?

I seldom find that there are so many guys on one square that it's an issue and yes, I store the game that way. I have a dedicated games room where all games are stored and played with an integrated sound system and coloured lighting for effects. Im totally spoiled and my beautiful wife is very forgiving of my over the top hobbies=. You can see some of it in the background of the photo :) I was putting the figs in the box and they were getting scratched, knocked off etc. It was driving me nuts. It was taking too long to setup. We have setup at about 60 seconds now, leaves more time for gaming. I built a shelf in the closet that is the size of the display tray in height and depth it goes back there after each game.

Its not a "MANCAVE". I hate that term, so selfish sounding :) Its a shared space that my wife and family use for crafting gaming and lego building. Her Stamping Up stuff is all setup in there in a harry potter themed cabinet ;) My sons lego store in ammo boxes on the floor :) Family fun gaming tavern is a better term
