Ordnance and T70, is this a thing?

I run APTs on Stay On Target Nien Nunb with Targeting Astromech and Pattern Analyzer sometimes. It's not point efficient at all, but it's pretty fun.

the issue is single ordnance slots are really, really bad on almost any ship.

Ordnance are too expensive on their own. Without the supporting mods, munitions, or a special ability that buffs them (fenn +1 die working on them for some reason being an example) they arent that amazing. Plus, Xwings are a 3die ship, and usually thats the cutoff for a ship to not want ordnance because their main gun is almost as good and free.

The only Xwing or T70 ive put ordnance on is either the random 2pts i got lying around for a Fletchette i probably wont use or Tarn with APTs. Tarn with APTs tends to let him dive at people without fear, since if they fire at him he gets a TL and he will most likely bank it for when he shoots to fire 5 super reliable dice in your face. Never actually gotten that attack off, but its deterred so many people from hitting him at range1 lol

Probably the only good use of ships with single torpedo slots. The cheap cost means you don't get more with EM.

Still Seismic Torpedoes like bombs is not really an attack. It can do damage if you have obstacles but unless you are dropping cargo chutes as well it has very limited use.

As for any other torpedo, no. No use for a torpedo secondary weapon on a ship with a single torpedo slot.

I won an Epic escalation tournament using a list that included 3 T-70s with Proton Torps, Chips and Deadeye (The rest of the list was Z-95 missile swarm with Biggs). I think Epic is where ordnance really excels on jousting ships rather than dedicated bombers, you get that strong alpha strike against the huge ships but still have firepower afterwards to keep putting out damage against the rest of the ships in play.

Flechette Torps are very underrated. They are only 2 pts. It's a 3 red dice attack that doesn't provide range bonus. It causes a stress to any ship under 5 hull. There are times when you can pull that off and it will win you the game. It was the secret to killing Bro Bots a few waves ago.

Oh yeah dont get me wrong theyre awesome, but i'll shed them before anything else if i need to and usually lists with an xwing im stressed for points.
Typically, unless its Nien since hes the only high PS xwing i use, i have issues getting the TL to deny the range3 shot so largely i'd rather fire normally and bank the TL for a possible Kturn or Troll range3 shot then. Which often doesnt happen much, usually i end up just hanging onto it.
