The idea that you doing something shady (read illegal) is ok because other people are doing shady stuff is not a good argument.
*yes this is a personal attack*
*But this guy deserves it*
*yeah go ahead and throw another warning on my account*
*triggered*
Just now, GrimmyV said:*triggered*
yeah, I'm triggered that someone is trying to justify their illegal activity. I think people call that righteous indignation.
This is like buying a CR90 for C3PO and getting mad when FFG releases it as a tournament prize.
Of course, no-one thanks FFG for turning their worthless Syck into playable ships.
Try playing with those newly FAQ'd cards. Ive found already that they improve the "decision making fun" of the game.
They also will let lists not running those cards have a better shot at winning.
How many games in the past year do you think you lost to against lists not running Palp, X7, Manaroo, and Zuckuss? TLT lists are about the only other upgrade I can think of.

Pain. Lots of pain. Worst film ever.
Oh come on, Legend is *worth watching just to see Tom Cruise jumping around in that loin-cloth diaper thing. It's good to know that he wasn't always way up there on that pedestal.
And Tim Curry was indeed fantastic as the devil. You'd never even be able to tell it was him if you didn't know ahead of time.
*debatable. Very debatable.

Yeah it was! Still is, actually. I still pull out Willow and give it a watch every now and again. Great story, great action, and so many great quotes. ![]()

Madmartigan: What the hell happened up there?Willow: You started spouting poetry. "I love you Sorsha! I worship you Sorsha!" You almost got us killed!Madmartigan: "I love you Sorsha?" I don't love her, she kicked me in the face! I hate her... Don't I?
Don't lie... you get misty eies when Martigan says: "I Serve The Nelwyn Eric!"

It went up a notch in that little moment and kept getting more serious and badass from that point on... IMO.

YAH... DAT!

Also Scheme to defraud in the 2nd Degree (in NY: Penal Law 190.60) and some level of criminal act in (I would assume) any US state.
The real kicker though? I'm pretty sure FFG would have mailed him his "replacement" card. That right there is Mail Fraud, 18 USC Section 1341. Federal felony, fine of up to $1,000,000 and/or up to 30 years. Committing fraud for a piece of cardboard seems really silly now, doesn't it?

This made me lol, but joking aside, I'm trying to point out the illegality of this scheme so that other forumites might think twice before adopting his little trick.
People may think it's far fetched to think that this could result in a prosecution, but here are two tidbits you should know:
1) There are handful of folks from the local US Attorney's office (and at least one Postal Inspector) who play X-Wing and Armada at my local store.
2) You REALLY don't want to be on an Assistant US Attorney's radar when he or she gets bored.

beside the fact that as a person you should just be better than that. You are in a very odd place if you can't proxy palp in regular game nights and borrow from a buddy at a tournament if you want to play him. No need to do shady stuff.
Aaaaaaaaaaaand this thread brought to you by PGS' alt account.

I don't think this point has been made loud enough. The Palp, X7, and Zuckuss errata all make the game more fun. Period.
Manaroo is not as clear-cut as a fun-enhancer but reining in Parattani and Dengaroo is probably worth it.

Yes, my cheap joking aside, I think what NeverTellMeTheOdds has done is pretty despicable behavior, from both the perspective of the law and the perspective of being a decent honest person. To that end, I greatly apprecaite you pointing out specifically what's wrong (legally) with his actions.

He deleted the post, but this is the Internet so it's forever out there. I quoted him halfway down on page 2.

Yeah, women. They're so hard to read.

This is horrible. Just... horrible.

I believe the thing you are looking for is still quoted on page 1.
It very much seems to indicate NTMTO would write to FFG's customer service complaining about not getting his Palpatine upgrade card with the Raider he doesn't seem to want to buy. FFG Customer service has a pretty good record of replacing missing or incorrect items it their expansions so we assume FFG just mailed him Palpatine at now cost to him.
I'm not sure how much Palpatine was selling for a single on eBay but it wouldn't surprise me if it was over $10 a pop.

Pre-nerf Palpatine was selling for $25-$30. I haven't checked for post-nerf prices. It will probably take a while for them to settle out.
