Some questions about battles/command phase

By Southpaladin, in Warhammer 40,000: Conquest - Rules Questions

Good day,

My apologies if this was already asked before. I found some answers in earlier posts, but would like to confirm if i understood them correct.

  1. Must a battle be fought at first planet if there are no troops deployed to it? I'd think there is no battle to fight at all in that case and the first planet remains in play until someone deploys a unit there. But earlier topics suggest that a planet gets discarded in that case.
  2. Similarly, if only one side deploys a unit to the first planet, does it automatically capture it? Or must it happen in an actual battle and the planet remains in play until both sides fight over it? From what I understood, it should get captured.
  3. Regarding command struggle, does it also occur on a planet if only 1 player deployed units there? Technically, there is no "struggle" here, so it is confusing.

Thanks for reading.

1) 1st planet battle is always resolved. Remember ther're are cards that as action deploy units from hand/discard as an or just move them from other locations. If battle end without units planet is removed from game.

2) as above, battle resolves and at least one action window occurs. Battle ends autimatically if you have unbowed unit that is going to resolve its attack and there's no enemy unit to defend.

3) command struggle resolves at every planet. Ther're cards that could cancel your struggle victory or just move units during this phase so every planet has it's own command struggle.
