Will we see these as playable species?

By Bluhfer, in Star Wars: Force and Destiny RPG

I'm thinking the Mystic book could give us Mikkians or Tholothian

Yoda's species confirmed!

The point is that if nasa can send monkey's into space I'm sure we can figure out a way to get ewoks into space, if a player desperately wants to play one.

We have an Ewok mechanic. Some day, a freighter had to crash land on endor. While the crew did repairs he sneaked in because he was so curious. He then lived a few months with the crew on thet freighter (they accepted him because he was so cute and cuddly), and he learned some mechanic skills and learned how to fly a ship.

Totally works, and totally worth it, when the force sensitive uses force move on the Ewok to create distractions :D

I always thought "Yoda's Species" are Lanniks...may as well sued them for the Stats...essentially the same; short, big ears and propensity for the Force...

Fully Operational: Bith confirmed. Kaminoans are possible, Givin are possible, Skakoans are possible. Sluissi fit but are Legends, so more unlikely than not; Jawas work but it seems like a weird fit for AoR. Personally, I hope they use a species seen in The Force Awakens.

Spy book: Kubaz seem possible, maybe Ubese (Leia dressed up as one, so that counts as a Rebel spy, right?). What else, not particularly sure, without delving deep into Legends material. Also, see my above comment about TFA.

Mystic book: Plenty of options, but there's a good test--if you see a species on the Jedi Council from the prequels or TCW, it might make an appearance (there are one or two that haven't shown up). Otherwise, I hope for Miraluka

Warrior book: Kaleesh could work. I hope for Cathar here. Talz?

Oh geez, I forgot about Talz! Slap that to my modest little list.

Force Awakens wise I hope to see Crolutes ala Unkar Plutt in the mix one day, though I sincerely doubt it.

I think the Cathar would be excellent in the Warrior book but sadly Absol has brought me over to her way of thinking on what will and will not make it into the books as far as species are concerned.

I just wished they would put a book of just alien species that goes into more details on cultures etc...and one-stop shop for species instead of having them scattered across 50 different books and often repeated,..

Huh. Remind me what my way of thinking is again, Kael? I appear to have forgotten whatever wisdom I have imparted to you :) ...

I suspect the prevailing theory is that we are far more likely to see Canon species than species that currently only exist in the EU.

Oh, just that one? I thought that was a common assumption. I was trying to comb through my Trends thread to find a nugget of deeper insight I may have dropped :D .

Yeah, it is likely that the vast majority of new species we get will be canon, and the odd Legends species will be the exception, not the rule.

Thankfully, Zeltrons are apparently canon now, though :) .

I'm all for Hot Pink and scantily clad women.

Me too :D !

The moment they decided to release them bit by bit, book by book they pretty much closed the door on a single one stop book. Also, to be fair not that many are repeated.

I would love to see FFG include gigorans (Moroff from Rogue One) and whatever species Two Tubes is...

We need the Asogians too.

The planet cathar is mentioned in the F&D core book on page 360. I think we might see them in Warrior like some others have mentioned.

Well, using the core rules and the Miraliran set up I did some minor modifications to make a Cathar female, it works so far. All I really did was add fur like a creature from Corellia minus tail with the base stats of the Greenskinsand the love of cold weather from the Chiss, fur patterns were used simply due to, well, being cats naturally. Also bumpted up broawn and agility by one apiece and bumped Intel by two and cunning by three. with one drawback/disadvantage of morality triggering when in combat {chance to lose control due to bloodlust}

It worked out quite well I must say

it's one of my favorites too.

I'm not sure if they're gonna make this an offical listing of playable races or not, but Arkanians {and Offshoots}, Cathar, Jawas and Ewoks are in it. I dont remember the link sorry.

What sucks is that the Cathar and Jawas base characterists are really low Whereas the Ewok characterrists are pretty average, the Arkanian and Offshoot characteristics are similar to Humans and easy to modify.

Looks like I can Finally play Lord Sonya after all

Arkanians will be officially statted by the end of next week. They're in the Consular sourcebook Disciples of Harmony, due to be released on June 1. So...yeah. That's at least a thing!

Yoda's races?

I would really like to see them in this game officially.

Any thoughts? What books might have them.? Or why not?

Yoda's species was included in Nexus of Power. He's a shriveled up Gungan.

Like I said, I can finally be my Sith Lord, Sonya {An Arkanian Offshoot, but that might not be in the book so Arkanian is just fine}
