Vader/Ordnance list: tweaks & deployment help

Intuition keeps telling me I'm onto something solid but after five games, I've yet to get more than two missiles off per game.

How should I be deploying? If I stagger my bomber setup and approach, the one that flies faster gets wasted. If I don't, the opponent dashes from Range 4 to Range 1 in one turn. The only time I managed to prevent that was when I set asteroids out just right.

Would Cluster Missiles + Long Range Scanners work better, to avoid the dead zone?

Change one bomber to a tanky blocker like a Defender and run that one ahead?

Getting multiple missiles off is never easy, that is why EMs are 2 points. The first is reliable and the second is a bonus. I find putting the bombers on the flanks can work well as they turn inwards after the initial joust meaning that your opponent will have a hard time keeping all his ships out of that Range 2-3 missile zone. You just have to accept that your 2nd missile is likely to go on a target of opportunity rather than one you choose.

The other thing to do of course is use the Academy Tie as a blocker to help set up shots for your bombers.

Is it that normal to bring 4 to the board and only ever get to fire 1?

I've been using it to block actions and arc dodging. Using it to block the bombers' Range 1 would mean holding it back more...kind of hard since it can't slow-roll.
