So with the new FAQ someone posted in another thread a list using M9-G8 on Shara Bey to enable a bunch of snapshot A-Wings, and it got me thinking, with all the cards and abilities in the game now that mess with Target Locks, is it possible for a ship to end up with a TL on itself?

The only thing in the game that allows a ship to target lock friendlies is M9-G8. The only way to make use of a target lock on a friendly is M9-G8. Shara Bey with a M9-G8 could target lock a ship and that ship could consider itself to have itself locked while they are attacking by using Shara's ability but there isn't anything that they could actually do with that target lock.

If your Dutch Vander you can.... You can pass out a target lock because you have successfully acquired a target lock.

I will now build a list centered around this for a casual tournament. I'll use porkins to fill the remaining points after kitting out shara and dutch. "murphys law" shall be the squadron call sign.

Dutch doesn't acquire a target lock when he uses Shara's ability though (or when she target locks him using M9-G8).

ah your right.... I see now. You just wouldn't be target locking yourself, you'd also have to basically shoot yourself to let Shara's ability work. Maybe HOTR chewie likes the idea, but still very unappealing. Also dutch has to acquire, not simply told he can use Shara's.
